Barstool Sports owner and founder Dave Portnoy teed off once again on President Donald Trump in a scathing “X” rant.

Dave Portnoy endorsed Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election over Democratic nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump emerged victorious by a surprisingly considerable margin, but Portnoy has quickly become disgruntled with his second tenure in office.

With the U.S. economy reaching historic lows, Trump took to Truth Social to blame his predecessor, Joe Biden. Trump advised Americans to “Be patient”, and that the economy will bounce back when tariffs take effect.

Dave Portnoy, however, isn’t buying what President Trump is trying to sell. The Barstool Sports boss said the stock market’s plunge falls directly on Trump and rejected the notion that it’s Biden’s fault.

Of course, Trump has never been one to admit his mistakes or take ownership of the problems he created. Biden did not start trade wars with Canada or Mexico or place tariffs on America’s trade partners.

Trump’s first 100 days in his second presidential term have been filled with controversies, to say the very least.

Aside from the trade wars and sinking U.S. economy, he faced significant criticism over his treatment of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during their White House meeting in February. The meeting ended without the two sides formally completing the Ukraine–United States Mineral Resources Agreement.

Meanwhile, Trump also continues to push for Canada to become the nation’s 51st state, something that wouldn’t happen in a million years.

Speaking on CNN three weeks ago, Portnoy claimed that he would “absolutely” consider voting for the Democratic Party in the 2026 U.S. midterm elections, citing the declining stock market.

Portnoy emphasized on CNN that he never considered himself a “crazy MAGA guy,” so his criticism of the Trump administration shouldn’t be all that surprising.
