Denver Nuggets Tipped To Move On From Nikola Jokic Amid Surprise City LinkNikola Jokic (Photo By Ron Chenoy-Imagn Images)
Here’s something that no one thought of. Nikola Jokic, the guy who just averaged a triple-double and has a championship ring, didn’t sign his contract extension with the Nuggets. And now, people are throwing around a city name that might make Denver fans choke.

Yes, the Detroit Pistons. The team that hasn’t been close to title talks in years is suddenly in the conversation for the best big man in the league. Jokic and the Nuggets failed to reach an extension on Tuesday.

That five-year, $270 million megadeal is off the table for now. They’ll revisit it next offseason, but the delay has sparked all kinds of speculation, and Nuggets fans aren’t loving the uncertainty.

Could Nikola Jokic’s Family Ties Pull Him Toward Detroit?

It gets weirder. According to Detroit Sports Daily on Instagram, the Jokics have a long-standing family connection to Detroit.

When the Pistons drafted Darko Milicic in 2003, he brought along his godfather, Strahinja, and Strahinja’s brother, Nemanja, who is Nikola Jokic’s older brother.

Nemanja stuck around long after Darko was gone. He played three seasons of Division I basketball at Detroit Mercy and left a mark on the city’s nightlife scene, too.

That bond with the city never quite faded. Now, with Jokic turning down an extension, whispers are growing louder: could the two-time MVP really follow that family trail back to Detroit?

It’s still a reach. But with the Pistons now under new coaching leadership and having added Jonas Valanciunas, who shockingly jetted off to another country after his trade, there’s just enough weirdness around both franchises to make this more than just internet noise.

Jokic, fresh off a season where he averaged a triple-double and added another All-NBA honor to his résumé, remains the face of the Nuggets. But if Denver can’t build a title-contending core around him, or worse, undervalues his worth in the next contract talk, the idea of teaming up with Cade Cunningham in a younger, hungrier environment could start to look appealing.

He’s close to his brothers. That’s no secret. And while Denver still holds all the cards in terms of money and legacy, Detroit, oddly enough, has the kind of off-court draw most NBA cities don’t.

It’s not a done deal. Not even close. But the NBA never sleeps. And neither does the idea of Nikola Jokic in a Pistons jersey.

Fearne Cotton has broken her silence on split from husband Jesse Wood in her first TV interview since the breakup.

Joining Lorraine Kelly on Monday’s episode of the ITV show, the TV presenter, 43, also gave an health update after having two tumours removed from jaw.

Fearne announced her split from Jesse, the son of Rolling Stones bass guitarist Ronnie Wood, in December after 10 years of marriage.

Fearne has had a difficult few months after undergoing surgery to remove two benign tumours from her jawline, just days before her split with Jesse emerged.

She told host Lorraine: ‘It’s all very amicable and kids are doing great. I am in a very good place.’place.’

Discussing her recent surgery, she added: ‘I feel very grateful to have completely recovered.

‘I feel really good. I have a lot of people reaching out who have had the same thing.’

Davina McCall, 56, announced in November she’d been diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare type of benign brain tumour, and has supported Fearne.

She continued: ‘Everyone needs a Davina. She’s been amazing, weird that we had the same health thing going on at the same time. She’s so calming and we speak every day. She is just the best

It comes after Fearne has seemingly made another thinly-veiled dig at her ex-husband as she gushed that she is the happiest she’s ever been in a positive update.

Speaking to Scott Mills on his BBC Radio 2 breakfast show, Fearne gushed that she is ‘really happy’ and is ‘springing out of bed in the morning ready for life’.

Scott, who has known Fearne for 25 years, said he has never seen her ‘more positive or happier’, prompting Fearne to agree and reply: ‘Yeah I feel great!’
