Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert made the much-anticipated announcement of the birth of their first child on January 5, although she had been born a week earlier. In the announcement, they also shared her name and their joy.
It is a beautiful but rare name shared by another celebrity couple’s child.
Baby Hough Shares Her Name with Another Celebrity Child
In Hough and Erbert’s Instagram announcement, they posted a black-and-white picture of their daughter’s feet, with their hands cradling them. “December 29, 2025. Everley Capri Hough,” they wrote the caption. “Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open, and our world is forever changed.”
Baby Everley shares her name with Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan’s daughter, Everly Elizabeth Maiselle Tatum, whom the former couple lovingly refer to as Evie. Tatum and Dewan’s daughter was born in 2013, and in addition to being actors, both stars are also exceptional dancers. It is unclear whether the name is a coincidence or whether Hough and Erbert were inspired by Everly’s name, though there is a slight spelling variation.
Of the 776 followers Hough follows on Instagram, he follows both Tatum and Dewan. As for Erbert, she also follows Tatum.
Derek Hough Is a Proud Girl Dad
Hough is a proud girl dad, proudly declaring in his Instagram bio that he is just that, a “Girl Dad.” On January 15, he posted his first photo of Everley Capri since the official announcement. Again, the photo was black-and-white, but this time it was of her little hand reaching up toward her dad. He holds her tiny finger with his own. It is a beautiful moment captured that highlights how he is already a doting parent.
“These small hands, one tiny finger and a lifetime promise,” he wrote in the caption of the Instagram post. “I’ll always be here to hold you and love you. Forever and ever, my Everley.” Fans flooded the comment section with loving messages, including one from Aunty Julianne Hough, who posted a pink heart emoji.
Erbert reacted with, “My favorite fingers in the whole world.”
Other reactions include, “So cute! Congrats guys,” “I can’t wait to see her dance with her dad for first time there will be so many memorable moments enjoy each one! Love n blessings,” and “Everley is such a beautiful name Congratulations again — that tiny hand holding your finger is pure magic.”
