Diego Pavia's Lie Raises Serious Questions About 2025 Heisman Contenders

Diego Pavia gets called out on social media for lying about his height, which got caught by social media users as he appeared at the Heisman Trophy Awards 2025.

Diego Pavia has found himself at the center of a social media investigation. Pavia has long been listed at 6 ft tall, a standard height for quarterbacks. However, when he stepped foot on stage at the 2025 Heisman Trophy Awards, he was standing next to Jeremiyah Love, who is also listed at the same height. Pavia appeared visibly shorter than Love, sparking speculations that his height may have been overstated.

The controversy seems trivial, as a difference of a few inches in height can not determine performance on the field. However, it is worth noting that for quarterbacks, height has been associated with durability for a while now. It also raises the question that the listed stats for players can be inaccurate at times. Among others who posted this on social media was The PatteFacts, a page that covers college football news on Instagram.

The caption of the post read: “Vanderbilt Quarterback Diego Pavia did not look like his listed height of 6’0 during the Heisman Trophy Ceremony Saturday.”

Further, it read, “Pavia, the Heisman Trophy runner-up, is listed at 6’0 according to the Vanderbilt depth chart, but seemed much smaller than Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, who is also listed at 6’0.”

Despite some inaccuracies in his listed height, there is no doubt that Pavia is an exceptional athlete. Even though he came runner-up at the 2025 Heisman Trophy Awards, he had won a prestigious title just a short while back.

Just a short while before the Heisman Trophy winner was announced, Diego Pavia was awarded the prestigious Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award 2025. This title is given to the top upperclassman quarterback from college football every year.

While the title itself was a big deal, Pavia didn’t celebrate much as his eyes were on the Heisman Trophy. Unfortunately, he was unable to secure the win there. With Fernando Mendoza officially crowned as the 2025 Heisman Trophy winner, Pavia was announced the runner-up.

Mendoza delivered an emotional speech after receiving 2,392 points. On the other hand, Diego Pavia received a total of 1,435 votes. Nonetheless, even getting nominated for such a prestigious award is not easy. Pavia proved to himself and to the Vanderbilt Commodores what he is capable of.
