DiJonai Carrington Posts Disgusting 2-Word Reaction After Nearly Breaking Sophie Cunningham’s Neck
DiJonai Carrington accused of playing victim after Saturday’s ejection.
DiJonai Carrington had a rough afternoon against the Indiana Fever.
Her day ended with an ejection. Her subsequent reaction then created another controversy.
Carrington was tossed during Saturday’s game after officials upgraded her foul on Sophie Cunningham to a Flagrant 2.
The Chicago Sky guard struck Cunningham in the head as the Fever guard went up for a layup. Cunningham hit the floor, then confronted Carrington after the play.
Teammates and staff eventually pulled Cunningham away.
Carrington later took to Threads, responding with two words: “WHITE PRIVILEGE” as she called out the Fever.

The post drew instant criticism from users across social media.
One Threads user responded, “You tried to take her f***in head off and you think that is white privilege?!?”
Another wrote, “Gtfoh. That was a clear Flagrant 2. You wanted to get some bull***t highlight. This is exactly the type of crap you were doing last year on your chase downs.”
Criticism also spread on X.
“DiJonai Carrington SMACKED Sophie Cunningham in the head mid air. Then played the victim on Threads after getting ejected 💀,” BrickCenter shared.
“Can’t wait Enes Kanter Freedom to dunk on her,” one fan joked in the comments.
“She always plays victim,” someone else claimed. “She went after Kate Martin. Wait and see – the lame a** WNBA media will demand an apology from Sophie or CC about the white privilege.”
The foul itself had already generated plenty of debate. Officials clearly viewed the contact as excessive and upgraded it to a Flagrant 2 after review. Carrington was subsequently ejected.
Cunningham’s reaction added even more fuel, but Carrington’s post has made the whole thing even bigger.
