DiJonai Carrington’s Old Tweet About Caitlin Clark Is Getting New Attention
Clark had the final say.
DiJonai Carrington has never tried to hide how much she loves going head-to-head with Caitlin Clark.
The two have had plenty of heated run-ins over the years, starting when Carrington played for the Connecticut Sun and carrying over after her move to the Chicago Sky. More often than not, though, Clark has been the one getting the last laugh.
Sunday’s game was no different. The Indiana Fever blew out the Sky 113-90, powered by a masterclass from Clark. The star guard went off for 37 points and 10 assists, putting together one of the most dominant performances of her career as Indiana improved to 25-14
Carrington’s Post Has Not Aged Well
The latest chapter makes Carrington’s earlier social media activity look even worse.
Carrington received a Flagrant 2 foul and an ejection during the Sky’s Aug. 8 game against the Fever. She hit Sophie Cunningham in the head during the play.
After the ejection, Carrington posted “8/23” on X.
She also referenced “white privilege” in a separate Threads post. The Sky then faced the Fever again on Aug. 23.
That date came and went with Clark taking control of the game.
Clark dominated from start to finish. She scored 37 points and handed out 10 assists while leading Indiana to a 23-point win.
Carrington struggled to match her. She shot just 3-for-11 from the field and finished with seven points, three rebounds, and one assist.
The stats make it crystal clear that Carrington might want this to be a tough rivalry, but Clark simply plays on a whole different level.
It brings back memories of the old LeBron James-DeShawn Stevenson games. Stevenson brought the drama and got a lot of attention, but he could never truly match LeBron’s impact on the court.
Carrington is a solid player for real, but when it comes to Clark, she just hasn’t shown she can consistently back up the fight she keeps picking.
