Sherrone Moore’s was worried about his safety after losing his job.

Former Michigan Wolverines head coach Sherrone Moore has had his life turned upside down. Earlier this month, he was preparing for a bowl game. Days later, the university fired him for cause. Moore had allegedly engaged in an improper relationship with a staffer.

Hours after his firing, he was detained and remained in jail until Friday, when he appeared in court. Moore was charged with felony home invasion before getting released on bond.

Prosecutors alleged that a woman broke up with Moore. She then informed university officials about their relationship. That would lead to his firing. After he was fired, prosecutors alleged that Moore went to the victim’s home. He would then threaten suicide.

Sherrone Moore is charged with third-degree home invasion, a felony. He is also facing stalking and entering without permission, both misdemeanors.

Moore was the rising coach of one of the nation’s most powerful college football teams. Now he will never hold a job like this ever again. His termination and arrest painted him as a troubled leader.

His wife and three children are the ones suffering more than he is. Despite her heartbreak, his wife still cares about his well-being. Moore’s wife of 10 years made a 911 call to authorities following his firing.

She told them that he was “suicidal” after “losing his job.” That was revealed according to dispatch audio obtained by The Detroit News.

“According to our victim here, he did put a knife to his throat and ran out,” the audio said. “They’re also advising that when he left the location on their call, he walked out with several knives.”

Prosecuting attorney Kati Rezmierski claimed he and the victim had been in a relationship for years. However, she broke up with him on Monday, Dec. 8. Following the breakup, Sherrone Moore allegedly spiraled out of control. He sent numerous texts and made several phone calls to the victim that she “did not want.”

She eventually had to tell the University of Michigan. The wheels began to fall off soon afterward.
