Donald Trump became the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl last year.
A new report reveals a fascinating reason why President Donald Trump will not attend Super Bowl 60 between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots this Sunday.
Last year, Donald Trump became the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl. He made the trip to New Orleans and watched the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in the big game.
Recently, President Trump said he’d miss Super Bowl 60 because it’s “too far away.” The 79-year-old also criticized the NFL’s choice of Bad Bunny for the Super Bowl halftime show, calling it “terrible.”
Though Trump won’t attend Super Bowl 60 at Levi’s Stadium, he agreed to an interview with Tom Llamas of NBC News. The one-on-one interview will air as part of NBC Sports’ Super Bowl pregame show.
Regarding Donald Trump’s decision to skip the Super Bowl? According to a new report from Zeteo, it’s not because the big game is too far away. Rather, he’s following his advisors’ suggestions.
Specifically, the advisors warned Trump that he’d likely get heavily booed by the fans at Levi’s Stadium if he attended the Super Bowl:
“What the president didn’t say in his Post interview is that some of his administration officials and advisers had privately assessed that if Trump were to attend Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California, the crowd at the stadium would likely aggressively boo him, Zeteo has learned.
In recent months, according to two people familiar with the situation and two sources briefed on it, several aides and advisers to the president quietly determined that the chances were rather high of Trump getting booed “big league,” at the Super Bowl, in the words of one White House official. Such a moment would instantly create a wealth of viral video clips and media coverage that administration officials would prefer to avoid.”
Trump was loudly booed at the Washington Commanders’ home game against the Detroit Lions on Nov. 9. Those clips indeed went viral.

Back in 2014, a year before launching his first presidential campaign, Trump attempted to purchase the Buffalo Bills. However, the club was sold to Terry Pegula, who also owns the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres.
Trump has many close relationships in the NFL, too. He goes back years with New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and legendary quarterback Tom Brady. Kraft, Jerry Jones (Dallas Cowboys), Shad Khan (Jacksonville Jaguars), the McNair family (Houston Texans), Haslam family (Cleveland Browns) and Woody Johnson (New York Jets) are among the owners who’ve donated to Trump’s campaign, too.
Gardner Minshew II, Maxx Crosby and Nick Bosa have endorsed Trump, too. He also received support from notable former NFL stars such as John Elway, Brett Favre, Ottis Anderson, Mike Ditka, and Lawrence Taylor.
