ESPN is turning up the volume on women’s sports coverage, and this summer, fans will see that commitment take center stage. In a move that signals both investment and intent, the network is launching an all-female sports studio show titled Vibe Check, set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ in late June.
The announcement came Tuesday during Disney’s Upfronts in New York City, where Elle Duncan, Andraya Carter, and Chiney Ogwumike shared the news with a packed room of media and industry insiders. Their energy onstage mirrored the mission behind the show: amplify women’s voices in sports and give them the space to lead the conversation.

Vibe Check will air three times a week and feature some of the game’s most dynamic talent. Though ESPN hasn’t confirmed the full lineup, Duncan, Carter, and Ogwumike, who have all become regular fixtures across ESPN programming, are expected to play leading roles. Burke Magnus, President of Content at ESPN, emphasized how the show fits into the larger vision.
“We are incredibly excited to launch this new show, which will provide a powerful platform for the brilliant women at ESPN,” Magnus said. “The voices that will be leading this program have long been shaping the sports landscape, and now they’ll have this additional platform to bring their unique insights to the forefront in an even more impactful way for Disney+ subscribers.”
Duncan took the mic with a message that hit home for many. “ESPN is true to women’s sports, not new to women’s sports,” she said. “And our commitment is fueling the growth of ESPN.” She pointed out that viewership across women’s sports content on the network jumped by 54 percent last year, including coverage of the WNBA, college basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, and tennis.
This isn’t ESPN’s first foray into Disney+ exclusive programming. Earlier this year, the network launched SC+, a streaming-only version of SportsCenter, marking the beginning of a broader strategy to expand its footprint on the platform.
With Vibe Check, ESPN isn’t just checking a box. It’s handing over the mic to women who know the game, live the game, and now, get to shape how fans experience it.
