Kelsey Plum went against Caitlin Clark during the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game with a suffocating defense. Though there was a little help she did for the team, the Indiana Fever rookie still made great plays against her.

Los Angeles Sparks’ Kelsey Plum finally addressed a viral moment featuring Caitlin Clark during the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game. The veteran guarded Clark full-court, raising many eyebrows in the process.

One fan questioned Plum over her infamous moment with the former No. 1 overall pick, but she was upset with the comments.

“Dawg could have been CC, could have been my grandma. coaches made me pick up full court and deny the ball back, I tried (btw if you watched the Olympics/ world championships, when you play team USA, this is the style) k leave me alone bye,” Plum wrote.

Several videos from different angles showed Plum’s suffocating defense on Clark, who still made an impact on the game, although she couldn’t score as desired. The Indiana Fever’s guard only scored four points (2-of-9 from the field) but assisted teammates 10 times. As for Plum, she played 13 minutes, scoring nine points, grabbing two rebounds and dishing six assists.

However, a Clark fan catches a stray with Plum and shares a video of a defensive play between the two. In the caption, the fan asked the Los Angeles Sparks star why she was pressing so much against the rookie.

Though, it did not go unnoticed. Plum made the trouble herself and clapped back at the fan’s tweet.

“Dawg could have been CC, could have been my grandma. coaches made me pick up full court and deny the ball back, I tried 😂 (btw if you watched the Olympics/ world championships, when you play team USA, this is the style) k leave me alone bye 😂,” Kelsey wrote.

Despite Plum’s tight defense, Clark managed to contribute significantly to her team’s performance. She assisted on ten baskets while scoring only four points herself, struggling with her shooting at 2-of-9 from the field.

Plum had a more productive outing, scoring nine points, recording two rebounds, and dishing out six assists during her 13 minutes on the court.

Whether or not fans see it as a rivalry, Kelsey Plum has no hard feelings for Clark. CC has been a celebrated star ever since she stepped in the WNBA scene.

Even before the two faced each other, Plum had only positive words for her.

“I’m super happy for her, she can have it. I think it’s really cool to see her do it in the fashion that she’s doing it, bringing attention to the game… She’s a baller. She’ll be great,” Plum said in February last year.

However, the Sparks star’s words did come true as the rookie had a great season afterwards. Clark got the All-Star nod in her first season for the team where the tight defense thing happened.
