The wife of an ex-NFL star has been arrested after allegedly attacking a woman she believes to be sleeping with her husband.

Thomas Davis’ estranged wife, Kelly Davis, has been arrested, according to a report from TMZ Sports. She allegedly attacked a Charlotte chiropractor whom she believes hooked up with her husband. Thomas Davis, 42, was a three-time Pro Bowler. He played most of his career for the Panthers, starring in Charlotte from 2005-18. He finished his career with the Chargers in 2019 and Washington Football Team in 2020.

Court documents obtained by TMZ Sports show that a Charlotte-based chiropractor accused Kelly Davis of hitting her “multiple times” at her office.

Laura Watterson, a chiropractor, accused Kelly Davis of attacking her at her office on August 26. She says that Kelly Davis thought that she had been hooking up with her husband.

“According to the docs, Kelly began screaming at Watterson while the doctor was with a patient … and when she was asked to leave, Kelly socked Watterson in the chest,” TMZ Sports reports.

Watterson wrote: “As I tried to guide her out the door of my office, she hit me and knocked my glasses off then hit me again on the other side of the head.”

Kelly Davis, who is married to Thomas Davis with four children, was taken into custody on September 3. She was charged with one count of misdemeanor assault and battery.

Her attorney maintains she is innocent.

“We believe completely in Kelly’s innocence and we look forward to challenging the false allegations once we have a court date,” her attorney told TMZ Sports.

The couple split in March of 2024. She claimed that her estranged husband “engaged in illicit sexual conduct with at least six women other than” her.

Kelly Davis claims the attack was out of self defense

Kelly Davis admitted to TMZ Sports that she showed up to Laura Watterson’s Charlotte office to confront her about allegedly sleeping with Thomas Davis.

However, she claims that during their conversation, Laura dug her nails into her skin.

“That’s when I slapped her,” Kelly said.

Kelly Davis added that she hit Watterson again after being escorted out of her office. She claims that she is not jealous.

“I’m not jealous,” she said. “I don’t want that man [Thomas] back ever in my life.”
