A content creator for a Kansas alumni team ended up in the emergency room Monday night. She suffered a serious facial injury during a postgame scuffle at The Basketball Tournament. The incident occurred after JHX Hoops beat Wichita State’s AfterShocks 64-59.
Videos of the chaos quickly spread online. The fight started when Wichita State’s Marcus Keene pushed Kansas player Jacob Hanna. Hanna then crashed into the content creator, knocking her to the ground.

She later shared details of her injuries and a photo of a medic treating her face.
“Since there’s already tons of videos circulating, might as well share what I’ve been up to,” Gehring wrote. “Spent last night in the ER.
“Suffered a pretty gnarly injury at the hands of a poor loser. Nose broken in several places + open fracture (meaning bone came through the skin) + deviated/ broken septum.
“I have to follow up with ENT and likely cosmetic surgeon soon to learn the full extent of my injuries.”
Multiple ejections had already occurred earlier in the game. Both teams played the final half with just six available players.

The content creator posted about the incident after videos began circulating. She held a towel to her face while a medic treated her courtside.
TBT is a single-elimination tournament that offers a $2 million cash prize each summer. JHX Hoops advanced to face a Kentucky alumni team in the next round.
Neighbors and fans watching the clips noted how quickly the situation escalated after the final buzzer. One bystander and a young child also appeared shaken in the aftermath.
