The Dallas Mavericks had a difficult start to the 2025-26 NBA season, currently holding a record of three wins and nine losses. This challenging situation has raised many questions throughout the league. Notably, former NBA player Jason Williams commented on the situation, sharing his thoughts regarding Klay Thompson.

After a series of losses, the Mavericks made a major decision this season. On November 11, 2025, the franchise relieved general manager Nico Harrison of his duties. Recently, Williams appeared on the “Hoopin’ N Hollerin’” podcast, where the crew, including Patrick Beverley, discussed the Mavericks’ struggles this season. During the conversation, Williams suggested that Klay Thompson’s new girlfriend, Megan Thee Stallion, might be contributing to Thompson’s slump.

“I’m from West Virginia, man, I’ve been taught a lot from old folks, old white folks. It only takes one p**** to drag a battleship across the desert. That’s how powerful it is. Klay Thompson, I ain’t sayin’ that’s what it is … but that might be what it is,” Williams said.

Thompson and Megan began their relationship during the offseason. Their connection sparked significant discussions within the league. Recently, they intensified these discussions with a major move in their relationship.

The Dallas Mavericks are making major adjustments to their lineup as they face struggles this season. One notable change is that they have moved Klay Thompson to a bench role. Recently, during a post-game press conference, Thompson shared his thoughts on this decision by the Mavericks.

“I’m enjoying it, I get to see the game develop so I can see where to pick my spots. At the end of the day, I played 30 minutes in the NBA, year 15, in just trying to be out there as much as I possibly can. I’m not saying the end is near but like it’s such a privilege to be out there, no matter if it’s mid-November or early June. My goal this year is to be the most consistent presence in the lineup,” Thompson said.

The Mavericks will play their next game of the season against the Los Angeles Clippers at American Airlines Center.
