A’ja Wilson has been named the AP Female Athlete of the Year, adding to her fourth MVP and another dominant season with the Las Vegas Aces.

A’ja Wilson’s trophy case is starting to look unreal. Fresh off securing her historic fourth WNBA MVP award, the Las Vegas Aces superstar just added another major accolade that pushes her legacy even further into rare territory.

Earlier, her phenomenal performance had veterans favour Wilson for the unanimous WNBA MVP nod. And now, the star center has locked in another major award to her name.

Recently, A’ja Wilson has been named the Associated Press’ Female Athlete of the Year. This prestigious nod came after a dominant performance throughout 2025.

It’s the first time in her career that the Columbia-born star has won the award, and it comes after a season where she once again stood at the top of the WNBA, be it statistically or as a leader for the Aces. Her MVP campaign and championship-level performances made her the clear favorite among voters.

Although Wilson hinted at a future plan recently, the three-time WNBA champion had another major award to her name, and it only expands her already decorated resume in the WNBA.
