Gina Carano smiling

She does not look the same.

Gina Carano looks very different ahead of her highly anticipated bout vs. MMA legend Ronda Rousey.

Rousey, who recently stunned in before-and-after photos herself, returned to MMA this year. She claims it’s because she wanted to help Carano lose weight.

“I was nine months pregnant, and I saw a video of Gina Carano giving an interview and she didn’t look good,” Rousey told ESPN (H/T SBNation).

“She gained an unhealthy amount of weight, and my first thought was ‘oh my god, what can I do to help?’ The reason why I had that thought was because she’s the one woman not only in MMA that doesn’t owe me a damn thing but that I owe immensely. I’m always trying to look out what I could do for her.”

You can see what Carano looked like back in 2024. The fighter and actress did, in fact, put on several pounds while going through personal issues. But she is back.

The 43-year-old showed a remarkable body transformation, wearing a short, tight-fitting black dress as she attended a press conference this week.

Carano said she hopes to provide inspiration for women following her own health struggles.

“For women, I think they try to put you out to pasture, like if we’re some Golden Girls already, and I think that we’re learning so much about the human body, I’ve learned so much about what the body is capable of,” she said.

“You can do anything, if I can come back and do an MMA fight after all this time, you can definitely reach your goals,” Carano added.

Carano will fight Rousey on May 16 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, in a Netflix event streamed worldwide.

The fight will also mark the platform’s first-ever live MMA event, with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions in charge.
