The 10-year-old boy whose elation instantly turned to disappointment after Patrick Mahomes handed him a headband but saw it stolen from him by a woman dubbed the “NFL’s Phillies Karen” has broken his silence.

Joey Masters lives in New York but is a massive Chiefs fan. He got tickets to the team’s away game against the Giants from his mom for his 10th birthday last month and got to see them win their first game of the season.

The outing got even better after Mahomes headed his way following the 22-9 victory and handed him the headband. However, it was snatched from his hand, with a female making off with it, immediately prompting comparisons to the Phillies fan who abused a young boy and his father for a home run ball.

The whole thing was caught on camera, and the woman, who has since been ID’d as Nina Miller, a Giants fan, claimed the quarterback meant to give it to her in a subsequent video.

Joey spoke to KCTV5 this week, insisting he wants the item back.

“I just want that band back really bad,” he told the TV station.

“Patrick Mahomes walked over to me, locked eyes with me, tries to give me his headband and the woman just swoops in and snatches it from me.”

Joey said the game was his first after being a Chiefs fan for years. He was seated in the front row behind one of the end zones with his mother, Mindy, who was just as stunned as he was.

“It was such a great day,” she remarked, “The players were amazing with us, the fans were, and just to have one person swoop in and take that from him is heartbreaking for a mother to watch.”

Having endured plenty of criticism online, Miller put out another video in which she tried to explain her actions, saying she really was under the impression that Mahomes was bringing her the gear. However, she claimed to be eager to return the band to Joey, asking social media for help.

“At the game, with all the noise and all the excitement, I honestly thought that Pat Mahomes was giving me the headband. I reached for it without thinking,” she said.

Time will tell whether or not she does the right thing.

Luka Doncic ‘destroys’ the Mavs on his return. Gets standing ovation and shows love to Mark Cuban

Luka Doncic hits 45 points in his first game in Dallas since being traded to the Los Angeles.

It’s rare for a home crowd to cheer the visiting team, but Luka Doncic’s return to Dallas was no ordinary night.

Just days before February’s trade deadline, the Mavericks shocked the NBA by sending their 26-year-old superstar to the Lakers—a move that outraged fans and sparked backlash toward GM Nico Harrison.

On Wednesday, Doncic played his first game back in Dallas since the trade. The arena was filled with fans in both his old Mavs and new Lakers jerseys, many chanting “Fire Nico” in protest.

Despite the emotion in the air, Doncic delivered a dominant performance, scoring a game-high 45 points to lead the Lakers to a 112-97 win. It was a powerful return for one of the league’s brightest stars—and a night Dallas won’t soon forget

The Mavericks pay tribute to Luka Dončić

While the Mavericks’ decision to trade Luka Doncic remains heavily criticized, they handled his return to Dallas with undeniable grace. The organization made sure his first game back as a Laker was met with respect and appreciation.

Every seat in the arena was draped with a T-shirt reading “Hvala za vse,” which translates from Slovenian to “thank you for everything.” It was a thoughtful nod to Doncic’s heritage and impact on the franchise.

Before tip-off, during the starting lineup announcements, the Mavericks played a tribute video showcasing some of Doncic’s most iconic moments in a Dallas jersey. The emotional gesture clearly resonated—moving Doncic to tears in front of the crowd that once called him their own.

From the opening tip, Doncic was locked in. By halftime, Doncic had racked up 31 points on 11-of-16 shooting in just 19 minutes—marking the 10th time in his career he’s scored 30 or more in a single half.

Though his scoring slowed in the second half, he continued to lead effectively, securing both a Lakers win and an unforgettable showing for the fans in Dallas.
