While promoting her appearance on Nina Brown and Joe Clair’s radio show, the mom of three boasted about her newfound “freedom.”
“Still getting used to being able to pop out wherever, whenever I want,” she said. “Freedom feels damn good, y’all.”
The TV anchor also liked comments about her departure.
“I like that now you are free to say whatever, not bound to contracts,” one fan said, which gained a thumbs-up from Janai.
“Speak your PEACE QUEEN,” another follower said, getting a like from Janai.
On the radio show, Janai spoke about “media literacy,” and how she approaches a news story as a Black journalist.
During the interview, Janai mentioned her voice was still hoarse from screaming at the Jay-Z concert earlier in the week in New York City.
Despite having more free time on her plate, Janai is still booked and busy.

She has been commenting about recent news stories – such as the death of Nolan Wells – on her social media, and she is gearing up for the release of her first memoir.
Janai also hosted the Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans earlier this month.
She’s also a mom of three kids with her husband Eli.
After news broke that Janai’s contract was not renewed in April, she took to Instagram to confirm the sad update with fans.
“I’d hoped that we’d have more time. It’s been hard on me that our time was cut short. I have loved my job,” the TV star said.
“It has been a joy to connect with my coworkers and with viewers to help keep you informed and entertained and to create this community.
“So, it really breaks my heart that I don’t get to say goodbye. I’m so sorry that I don’t get to say goodbye. It would have been fun.”
Many of Janai’s GMA co-hosts have supported her after her shock exit.
She had dinner with Whit Johnson, Gio Benitez and their partners in NYC just weeks after the firing.
