The Familiar Face Returned During A November 28, 2025, Episode Of Gold Rush

Gold Rush is a Discovery series exploring gold mining efforts throughout North America. First premiering in 2010, viewers have seen the search for gold lead miners to Alaska, Oregon, and Colorado, as well as Guyana and Canada.

The show returned for Season 16 in early November 2025. Recently, viewers got to see a familiar face make their return to the show.

Buzz Legault returned to Gold Rush with an episode airing November 28, fittingly named “Buzz in the Hills.” With his return, Buzz showed off a new face, sharing that he went on a trip to Mexico and got his teeth fixed.

Viewers previously saw Buzz get into a confrontation with Rick Ness on “Rick vs. Buzz.” After taking a nap after feeling he had been demoted, losing motivation, Ness gave Legault the ultimatum to contribute or leave. At the time, many fans thought they would see the last of Buzz on the show after he declared that he had had enough and decided to leave.

Meeting with Kevin Beets, Buzz shared he didn’t want to return to Rick Ness, wanting more stability with a new baby on the way. Of course, between his growing family and his new look, many viewers suspect that these real-life issues could have also played a part in why Buzz initially appeared to leave the show.

Buzz Had A New Look & Was About To Start A New Job On The Show

Kevin, however, offered a solution: he could take him on as a foreman. Faith Teng noted that they were in need of a jack of all trades, thinking it was a good idea.

This caused Buzz to tease, “I can be your Buzz of all trades.” Kevin already had Buzz’s first job lined up, and it was a big one. He needed to move a wash plant from the Links Cut down a slope and up a 30-degree incline. Needing it to go well, the job would also test how well Buzz and Kevin could work together.

While the original plan to move the plant fell through, they were able to come up with another plan that did. Thanks to this, Kevin thought Buzz would be a good fit.

The last stockpile before the relocation brought in 56.59 ounces. The team then expressed their goal was to sluice by the end of the week at the Pyramid cut, hoping to get close to their current set goal of 2,000 ounces.
