It’s been a month since Golden Bachelor Mel Owens could finally go public with his relationship with Peg Munson. In a new interview, she spilled the truth about their Fantasy Suite date, what he’s really like, and much more. Keep reading for all the details.

Peg Munson Shares Kind Gesture From Mel Owens

Mel Owens got off on the wrong foot with a lot of Bachelor Nation fans. Before the Golden Bachelor even aired, he offended women of a certain age. He said in a pre-show podcast interview that he didn’t want to date anyone over the age of 60 or anyone with “wigs” or “artificial hips.” He apologized for his crass comments, but the damage was done.

Those who did tune in to the second Golden Bachelor season were further annoyed with his commitment issues. Instead of proposing to his final rose winner, Peg Munson, he gave her a diamond promise ring. The retired Las Vegas, Nevada, firefighter was fine with not getting engaged and has spent the last month defending her boyfriend.

Peg Munson has been posting thirst traps of Mel Owens to show fans a new side of him. She recently appeared on the She’s All Bach podcast to further defend the former NFL player. After his football career ended, Mel Owens became a lawyer specializing in sports injuries.

During the podcast interview, Peg Munson shared a kind gesture Mel Owens made toward younger football players. She revealed that he donated his Golden Bachelor salary, an estimated 100,000, to a youth football league in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan.

“So there’s a lot more to him that everybody … they don’t know,” she said on the podcast. She also shared new details about their overnight date ahead of the final rose ceremony.

Golden Bachelor Winner Spills Truth About Fantasy Suite

Peg Munson was the only one of Mel Owens’ contestants to get a Fantasy Suite date. Runner-up Cindy Cullers self-eliminated before the intimate overnight date. While Mel and Peg had a strong connection, all they did was talk.

“He was so respectful and he didn’t even go there even a little bit. All we did was talk for 12 hours. We did not [have s*x], no. No intimacy whatsoever. He really wanted to get to know me, and he didn’t even try,” she said.

Peg Munson said she never planned to be intimate going into Fantasy Suites anyway. She explained how the overnight dates are different for women compared to how they are for men.

“For me, I wouldn’t have had physical intimacy [that night]. Because what happens for women — and I believe this — is that it clouds our judgement. Once we open up our hearts, it clouds our judgement to what’s good for us. Men are different; they can be intimate and it’s no big deal. We’re intimate, and it’s like, ‘Oh s***, it’s all over!’ So, no, I was not going to do that,” – Peg Munson, She’s All Bach podcast.

The Golden Bachelor couple is still in the early stages of their relationship. However, they aren’t rushing anything and want to get to know each other more before taking the next step.
