Golden Bachelorette spawned more romance than other shows in the franchise. One by one, the contestants have found love with someone outside of reality TV. A runner-up just made a surprise engagement announcement. Keep reading for all the sweet details.
Joan Vassos Still With Winner Despite Rumors
Joan Vassos had an array of senior men looking for love to choose from on The Golden Bachelorette. She ultimately picked Chock Chapple. The couple got engaged in the season finale in 2024, but haven’t made any moves toward the altar.

The senior couple live separate lives thousands of miles away from each other. However, if you ask them, the distance has only made their relationship stronger. Despite rumors, Joan and Chock are still happily engaged and plan to marry someday. One of her suitors just announced a surprise engagement.
Golden Bachelorette Runner-Up Makes Surprise Engagement Announcement
Bachelor Nation fans were excited to see men and women from the Golden spinoff on Season 10 of Bachelor In Paradise. But by the time the beachy spinoff began filming, many of the men from The Golden Bachelorette were in relationships. Gary Levingston was on BIP but only found love after the show.
Many fans thought Guy Gansert, the ER doctor from Reno, Nevada, was the clear frontrunner for the second Golden Bachelor season. But he announced in April that he was in a relationship with Johanna Boston. Another frontrunner for the gig, Mark Anderson, is in a relationship with One Tree Hill actress Barbara Alyn Woods.

Seven months after hard-launching his relationship, Guy Gansert took to social media on Thursday, November 6, with a huge update. He proposed to Johanna Boston, and she said yes!
He shared a black-and-white video that showed the couple at various landmarks and hot spots in New York City. One snapshot showed them at the top of the Empire State Building.
His fiance shared more details about the proposal in the comments. One fan asked whether the trip to NYC was planned and if he popped the question in the iconic landmark. Johanna Boston wrote, “The trip was planned. The engagement was a surprise 🥰🥰 and yes—the 86th floor of the Empire State building.”
Golden Bachelorette fans flooded the comments with congratulations. One fan wrote, “You two are just so beautiful together! Thank you for sharing your amazing path together!”
Another added, “Congratulations!! Guy, you were my favorite on the GB! I’m SO happy you two met!!! Beautiful couple and that ring is STUNNING and gorgeous!”
The happy couple celebrated their engagement with drinks at the Roxy Hotel. They also took in a Broadway show while in the Big Apple. Guy Gansert and his fiance saw the popular musical Moulin Rouge while on their trip to NYC.
