Fox News replaces MediaBuzz with new Sunday program led by White House correspondents

Fox News is introducing a new Sunday program that will shift its weekend lineup, placing two of its top White House reporters at the center of political coverage. The network confirmed that “The Sunday Briefing” will debut on September 21, replacing the long-running media analysis show “MediaBuzz.”

According to Fox News, the Washington-based program will be hosted by senior correspondents Peter Doocy and Jacqui Heinrich, who will alternate as solo anchors. Both journalists have covered the White House for the network since 2021, bringing direct reporting experience from inside the briefing room.

The network stated that the show will focus on developments tied to the presidency, including both domestic and international decisions, as well as key policy issues shaping the administration.

The launch of the new program marks the end of “MediaBuzz,” which has aired since 2013 under host Howie Kurtz. Kurtz will remain with Fox News as a political media analyst and continue hosting a podcast, with his final television broadcast scheduled for Sunday.

Before joining Fox News, Kurtz previously worked at CNN, where he created and hosted “Reliable Sources.” That program was later canceled in 2022 during Brian Stelter’s tenure.

Expanded weekend lineup and new roles

Fox News is also rolling out additional changes across its weekend schedule. A new two-hour program titled “Saturday in America with Kayleigh McEnany” is set to air at 10 a.m. Eastern, adding to the network’s weekend programming slate.

McEnany, who joined Fox News in March 2021, will continue her role as a co-host on the daytime show “Outnumbered.”

Elsewhere, correspondent Griff Jenkins has been named co-host of “Fox & Friends Weekend,” joining Rachel Campos-Duffy and Charlie Hurt. The position had been filled by rotating hosts following Pete Hegseth’s departure to serve as Secretary of Defense.

The network also confirmed that Tomi Lahren and Johnny Jones will become permanent co-hosts of “The Big Weekend Show,” solidifying the panel lineup moving forward.

The series of announcements reflects a coordinated update to Fox News’ weekend and Sunday programming, anchored by the launch of its new White House-focused broadcast.
