Hawaii Bowl Ends In Massive Christmas Eve Brawl

A comeback win creates chaos as tempers explode.

Christmas Eve turned crazy at the Hawaii Bowl when players from Hawaii and California got into a big fight right after the game ended. The chaos happened moments after Hawaii finished an incredible comeback to win at Aloha Stadium.

As the final play ended, Hawaii defensive back Peter Manuma shoved Cal wide receiver Quaron Adams after the play. According to a video on X, several Cal players rushed in. Hawaii players followed as the Rainbow Warriors celebrated nearby. Both sidelines emptied and flooded the field.

Officials and staff rushed in to separate players as shoving continued near the California sideline. Then again, a second fight broke out shortly after. Another video shows Cal’s No. 68 throwing a punch at a Hawaii player who was not wearing a helmet. Hawaii players then fought back, and the situation quickly got out of control.

The tense ending came after a dramatic finish. Hawaii erased a large deficit and scored late to shock Cal 35-31. The win was Hawaii’s first bowl victory since 2020 and a big moment for head coach Timmy Chang and the program.

Hawaii fell behind fast, trailing 21-0 early in the second quarter. The odds looked bad, but the Rainbow Warriors fought back. They scored 21 straight points and tied the game in the fourth quarter.

Freshman quarterback Micah Alejado led the comeback before leaving late with an injury. He finished with 274 passing yards, three touchdowns, and 33 rushing yards.

Backup quarterback Luke Weaver took over and stayed calm. With just 15 seconds left, he threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Nick Cenacle on only his third throw of the game. That score gave Hawaii the lead for good.

Wide receiver Pofele Ashlock had a huge night. He caught 14 passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Cenacle added eight catches for 59 yards, including the game-winning score.

California moved the ball well but struggled to finish drives late. Quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele threw for 343 yards and two total touchdowns. Cal had nearly 500 yards of offense but scored only 10 points after halftime.

The fight after the game marked the second straight bowl with a postgame scuffle. Louisville and Toledo also got into a heated scene the night before at the Boca Raton Bowl.

Hawaii finished the season 9-4, its first winning year since 2020. Head coach Timmy Chang helped turn the program around, going from three wins to nine in four seasons. Cal ended 7-6 and moved on from coach Justin Wilcox. The school hired Oregon defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi, who will join after the Ducks’ playoff run.

The Hawaii Bowl had everything, a wild comeback, big plays, and chaos after the final whistle. Christmas Eve in Honolulu ended loud and unforgettable.

Luka Doncic ‘destroys’ the Mavs on his return. Gets standing ovation and shows love to Mark Cuban

Luka Doncic hits 45 points in his first game in Dallas since being traded to the Los Angeles.

It’s rare for a home crowd to cheer the visiting team, but Luka Doncic’s return to Dallas was no ordinary night.

Just days before February’s trade deadline, the Mavericks shocked the NBA by sending their 26-year-old superstar to the Lakers—a move that outraged fans and sparked backlash toward GM Nico Harrison.

On Wednesday, Doncic played his first game back in Dallas since the trade. The arena was filled with fans in both his old Mavs and new Lakers jerseys, many chanting “Fire Nico” in protest.

Despite the emotion in the air, Doncic delivered a dominant performance, scoring a game-high 45 points to lead the Lakers to a 112-97 win. It was a powerful return for one of the league’s brightest stars—and a night Dallas won’t soon forget

Every seat in the arena was draped with a T-shirt reading “Hvala za vse,” which translates from Slovenian to “thank you for everything.” It was a thoughtful nod to Doncic’s heritage and impact on the franchise.

Before tip-off, during the starting lineup announcements, the Mavericks played a tribute video showcasing some of Doncic’s most iconic moments in a Dallas jersey. The emotional gesture clearly resonated—moving Doncic to tears in front of the crowd that once called him their own.
