Pat McAfee and his wife, Samantha, shared some emotional but happy news this weekend. They announced that they are expecting their second child, a baby boy due in June 2026. The news means a lot to them because they spent years dealing with heartbreak, medical issues, and a long IVF journey.
They posted their announcement on Instagram and talked honestly about everything they went through. Their daughter, Mackenzie, who was born in May 2023, also appeared in the post as she gets ready to be a big sister. The family later celebrated the moment at the Indianapolis Colts game on Sunday.
In their message, Pat and Samantha explained how tough the process was and reached out to others facing the same struggle.
They wrote, “The path that led us here was filled with needles, hormones, countless appointments, and more emotion than we ever knew two hearts could hold.” They added, “IVF pushed my body to its limits and stretched our spirits in ways we never expected.”

The couple went through two miscarriages before this pregnancy. Samantha explained that both losses came with serious medical emergencies, also sharing that she had internal bleeding and lost both of her Fallopian tubes, which means she can’t get pregnant naturally anymore. She has talked openly about these moments and said she “almost lost her life twice.”
Pat and Samantha said this new pregnancy fills them with gratitude. They wrote, “And now, with humbled hearts and overwhelming gratitude, we are overjoyed to share that we are expecting a baby boy, arriving June 2026.” They also sent a message to others dealing with fertility struggles, saying, “You are not alone. I hope our news doesn’t cause you pain, but instead offers a spark of hope.”
The McAfees have shared parts of their journey with fans for years, and many people congratulated them after the announcement. Travis Kelce was one of the first to show support online. Their daughter, Mackenzie, appeared in the photos, smiling with her parents as they celebrated the good news after years of worry. Pat also recently revealed that he and his family have been receiving death threats and hateful messages.
Pat, who used to punt for the Colts, returned to his old stadium for the announcement. He now works in sports media, hosting his daily show and appearing on College GameDay. But this moment was all about family. He also shared recently that West Virginia University will officially induct him into its Hall of Fame.
