As we all know, Karmelo Anthony has been charged with murd3r in connection with a fatal track meet st/abbing.

In the aftermath of Anthony’s release from jail, he was moved to an undisclosed location for his safety after his family received threats and was harassed.

His name is now buzzing yet again.

Anthony, the Texas teenager who allegedly fatally sta/bbed 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a school track meet in April, has been indicted for first-degree murd3r, the district attorney announced.

A Texas grand jury indicted Anthony after weeks of evidence, Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced.

Willis said the case will now move through the court system as both sides wait for a trial schedule to be set.

“We know this case has struck a deep nerve — here in Collin County and beyond. That’s understandable,” Willis said. “When something like this happens at a school event, it shakes people to the core.”

Over the past few months, many have called for Karmelo Anthony to face the d3ath p3nalty. Unfortunately for those people, it won’t happen.

Anthony will not face the d3ath p3nalty.

Karmelo Anthony, accused of fatally sta/bbing a fellow teen at a high school track meet, will not face the d3ath p3nalty.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ Sports that prosecutors will not seek the d3ath p3nalty, partly because Anthony was 17 at the time and is too young under Texas law to be eligible. Instead, he faces up to life in prison.

Jeff Metcalf, the dad of Austin Metcalf, was not thrilled with this decision.

He told TMZ he would have “100 percent” supported the d3ath p3nalty if Karmelo had been 18 at the time of the incident.

“Doesn’t matter what I think,” he told us. “Nothing will bring my son back.”

He added, “It’s the law, unfortunately. If it would have happened 6 weeks later, he would have been 18. Then it’s a different ball game. We have to play the cards we are d3alt.”

Despite everything, Jeff is “pleased” that the case is moving forward.

Every seat in the arena was draped with a T-shirt reading “Hvala za vse,” which translates from Slovenian to “thank you for everything.” It was a thoughtful nod to Doncic’s heritage and impact on the franchise.

Before tip-off, during the starting lineup announcements, the Mavericks played a tribute video showcasing some of Doncic’s most iconic moments in a Dallas jersey. The emotional gesture clearly resonated—moving Doncic to tears in front of the crowd that once called him their own.
