As the search for Nancy Guthrie nears the end of its second week there has an outpouring of support from her local community.
Neighbors and well-wishers have been leaving yellow flowers, ribbons, and heartfelt notes outside the 84-year-old’s home, standing with the Guthrie family during this distressing time.
The local neighborhood association encouraged residents to display yellow ribbons or flowers as a “sign of hope for her safe return.” More than a dozen people have brought blooms, turning the front yard into a sea of yellow and sending a message of solidarity. One woman arrived carrying yellow roses tied with a ribbon. “I just want her to come home safe,” she told a NBC reporter.
Nancy was reported missing on February 1 after failing to attend her regular morning mass. Friends quickly alerted Nancy’s family, who then called 911 which led to Pima County Sheriffs Department escalating the case to a suspected kidnapping.
Investigators have since found blood outside her home, and a discarded black glove matching the type seen in security footage released by the FBI earlier this week.

This has led to the Bureau to release an official description of the suspect. He is described as approximately 5’9” – 5’10” tall, with an average build.
Nancy’s daughter, Savannah Guthrie, shared a message to supporters, underlining faith and community in this difficult time and wrote, “We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him.”

In a video update, she added, “We are in an hour of desperation, and we need your help.”
She ended with a note of unity, citing Isaiah, “He will keep in perfect peace those whose hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”
Outside the Guthrie residence, signs have been put up showing support, including one that reads, “Your neighbors stand with you.”
Passersby have paused to leave flowers or prayers, creating a quiet but hopeful atmosphere.
The FBI has increased the reward from $50,000 to $100,000 for “information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance,” an official statement read.

“Sometimes silence protects the sport. This time, it protects no one.” After days of outrage over Madison Chock and Evan Bates’ controversial silver in Milano, NBC analyst Scott Hamilton has finally spoken — and he didn’t hedge his words. While his first reaction appeared measured and diplomatic, mounting backlash from fans pushed the Olympic legend to address the judging storm head-on. This time, he acknowledged the emotional toll more directly, revealing that the result hit far deeper than the public realized. According to Hamilton, the heartbreak wasn’t just about standing one place lower on the podium. It led to raw, behind-closed-doors conversations — the kind that force elite athletes to question everything, including their future in the sport. In figure skating, where commentary is often cautious and restrained, Hamilton’s decision to speak so openly carries weight. His message was unmistakable: he stands firmly with Chock and Bates. And in a sport decided by decimals, that public support may be the most powerful statement yet.
