As the search for Nancy Guthrie nears the end of its second week there has an outpouring of support from her local community.

Neighbors and well-wishers have been leaving yellow flowers, ribbons, and heartfelt notes outside the 84-year-old’s home, standing with the Guthrie family during this distressing time.

The local neighborhood association encouraged residents to display yellow ribbons or flowers as a “sign of hope for her safe return.” More than a dozen people have brought blooms, turning the front yard into a sea of yellow and sending a message of solidarity. One woman arrived carrying yellow roses tied with a ribbon. “I just want her to come home safe,” she told a NBC reporter.

Nancy was reported missing on February 1 after failing to attend her regular morning mass. Friends quickly alerted Nancy’s family, who then called 911 which led to Pima County Sheriffs Department escalating the case to a suspected kidnapping.

Investigators have since found blood outside her home, and a discarded black glove matching the type seen in security footage released by the FBI earlier this week.

Nancy’s daughter, Savannah Guthrie, shared a message to supporters, underlining faith and community in this difficult time and wrote, “We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him.”
