Angel Reese already knew what was coming.

Did Angel Reese know this trade was coming?

For months, there had been discontent between Reese and the Chicago Sky. In September, Chicago suspended Angel for one half of a game due to “statements detrimental to the team” following her public criticism of the franchise.

The Chicago Sky star notified her franchise, saying, “I’m not settling for the same s— we did this year,” Reese told the Chicago Tribune. Angel Reese later added, “I am very vocal about what we need and what I want. I’d like to be here for my career, but if things don’t pan out, obviously, I might have to move in a different direction and do what’s best for me. But while I am here, I’m going to try to stay open-minded about what I have here and maximize that as much as I can.”

Things were so bad that many on social media accused her of faking injuries to avoid playing for the team. Things would eventually calm down, but things were already set in stone. The Sky and Angel Reese needed to part ways.

Reese was certainly waiting for this day. Angel Reese, the 2023 women’s basketball national champion at LSU and two-time WNBA All-Star, was traded from the Chicago Sky to Atlanta. Selected by the Sky with the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, Reese finished second to Caitlin Clark in the rookie of the year balloting.

She was supposed to be the face of the franchise for years to come. Now she is gone.

Hours after the news, Reese posted a new photo shoot showcasing her new gear. It happened so quickly that Jemele Hill thought Reese may have known about the trade for some time.

“It’s like you had this saved in drafts 🤔😂😂,” she said in a quote-tweet.

Leading the league in rebounding late in the season, she suffered a fractured wrist and opted to undergo season-ending surgery. The writing was on the wall that she would never play another game for the team.

Angel Reese improved her scoring average in her sophomore season and was named to the All-Star team for the second year in a row.

However, the Sky still couldn’t find a way to be competitive. Now she heads to a team that won 30 games in 2025.

Fearne Cotton has broken her silence on split from husband Jesse Wood in her first TV interview since the breakup.

Joining Lorraine Kelly on Monday’s episode of the ITV show, the TV presenter, 43, also gave an health update after having two tumours removed from jaw.

Fearne announced her split from Jesse, the son of Rolling Stones bass guitarist Ronnie Wood, in December after 10 years of marriage.

She has since made swipes at Jesse and moved on with TV director Elliot Hegarty, with the pair having been seen kissing during a recent night out.

Fearne has had a difficult few months after undergoing surgery to remove two benign tumours from her jawline, just days before her split with Jesse emerged.

She told host Lorraine: ‘It’s all very amicable and kids are doing great. I am in a very good place.’place.’

Discussing her recent surgery, she added: ‘I feel very grateful to have completely recovered.

‘I feel really good. I have a lot of people reaching out who have had the same thing.’

Davina McCall, 56, announced in November she’d been diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare type of benign brain tumour, and has supported Fearne.

She continued: ‘Everyone needs a Davina. She’s been amazing, weird that we had the same health thing going on at the same time. She’s so calming and we speak every day. She is just the best

It comes after Fearne has seemingly made another thinly-veiled dig at her ex-husband as she gushed that she is the happiest she’s ever been in a positive update.

Speaking to Scott Mills on his BBC Radio 2 breakfast show, Fearne gushed that she is ‘really happy’ and is ‘springing out of bed in the morning ready for life’.

Scott, who has known Fearne for 25 years, said he has never seen her ‘more positive or happier’, prompting Fearne to agree and reply: ‘Yeah I feel great!’

She told how her health scare has changed her outlook and said she has been seeking comfort from Davina.
