LeBron James has hinted at some friction within his marriage, although it’s not to say that it’s headed toward disaster.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has admitted that his longtime relationship with his spouse, Savannah James, has not always been great, which is nothing shocking. It comes with the territory.

LBJ and Savannah have been married since 2013, but have been together since high school. Parents to three children, Bronny Bryce, and Zhuri, they have been an item for over 20 years.

According to LeBron, who was a recent guest on the ‘360 With Speedy’ show, things haven’t always been rosy.

“We’ve been together since high school, so s*** ain’t always gonna be a bed of roses, in any relationship, let alone someone you’re living with for over 20 years,” he told host Speedy Morgan.

The four-time MVP also offered his recipe for a successful marriage, which includes communication, honesty, and being comfortable with discomfort.

“You can’t always have it your way, you can’t always think that ‘my way or the highway.’ It’s never gonna work that way. The saying happy wife, happy life: that s*** real, bro,” he said.

James, who recently went viral for doing pilates with his wife, was overheard back in June saying Savannah wants him to “f***ing retire in the next year or so.” Fans obviously aren’t pleased that she might be forcing him to leave the game.

Fortunately, he told Morgan, “Retirement is coming, it is coming. It’s just not here yet.”

Even so, he has been linked with a move away from the NBA to play in a new professional basketball league.

The 40-year-old previously made no secret of his desire to play with his first son, Bronny, and realized that dream last season, sharing the court with his eldest as Lakers teammates.

Of course, he would like to leave the game with at least one more championship, but he’s also become the highest scorer in NBA history, a feat which might never be surpassed.
