Dylan Dreyer beams with pride as she shares joyful update away from Today

Craig Melvin leaves Today set for another job role as his co-star steps in to save the day | HELLO!

Dylan Dreyer was clearly in celebratory spirits on Monday as she shared a personal milestone with fans — one that has nothing to do with her work on Today and everything to do with a dream close to her heart.

The beloved TV star, who balances her busy broadcasting career with life as a hands-on mother to three young boys, took to social media to reveal some exciting news.

Posting a photo of her new children’s book, A Peek Out of Your Window, Dylan could barely contain her excitement as she told followers: “Tomorrow is the day!!”

And for the meteorologist-turned-author, this was not just another project launch. It was something deeply personal.

Dylan explained that creating a lift-the-flap book had long been one of her biggest ambitions, inspired by the kind of stories her children loved most when they were younger.

“You know how sometimes the little things make you the most proud?” she wrote. “I’ve been wanting to make a Lift the Flap book because they were always my kids’ favorite books when they were little.”

She added that she had dreamed of turning her familiar phrase, “a peek out your window,” into exactly that kind of book — and now, at last, that dream had become reality.

“Tomorrow that dream comes true,” she told fans. “I hope you love it as much as I do! (And Misty the Cloud makes an appearance too…my other favorite dream!)”

The reaction from fans was immediate, with many saying they could not wait to get their hands on the book and praising Dylan’s growing collection of children’s titles.

But perhaps the sweetest approval of all came from inside her own home.

Her youngest son, Rusty, had already made it clear he was a fan.

Ahead of the official release, Dylan shared a tender glimpse of family life in New York, revealing that a copy of the book had arrived early — and quickly become Rusty’s new obsession.

“When my new book arrives yesterday and it’s already Rusty’s favorite,” she wrote alongside a photo of him eagerly flipping through the pages. “I couldn’t be prouder!! Thank you as always for supporting me in this little passion project!!”

That phrase — “passion project” — says a lot about what book writing means to Dylan.

While she is best known to millions as one of the warm, familiar faces of morning television, she has made no secret of how much joy she finds in creating stories for children.

And, as it turns out, that creative path began with her family.

Dylan previously revealed that she had never seriously imagined herself writing children’s books until the idea grew naturally out of playful moments with her husband Brian.

“I never really thought about a children’s book either,” she said. “But my husband and I come up with crazy little stories and it came from one of those.”

She recalled one particularly imaginative moment while the pair were on a plane, joking about their suitcases going on a trip together.

From there, Brian suggested taking the idea in a more whimsical direction.

“My husband then said, ‘what about making it about clouds?’” Dylan explained. “This was perfect, what with me being a meteorologist.”

That concept soon grew into an entire storytelling world.

“Clouds and emotions sort of work together,” she said. “There’s a weird parallel between how you’re feeling and the weather.”

And from that spark, a new creative outlet was born.

For fans, Dylan’s latest update offered another glimpse into the side of her life they find so endearing — not just the polished television professional, but the devoted mom and imaginative storyteller who pours her heart into projects inspired by her own children.

It is that blend of warmth, ambition and family joy that continues to make her so relatable.

And judging by her excitement, A Peek Out of Your Window is not just a new book release.

It is the realization of a dream she has been carrying for a very long time.
