Jameis Winston Throws A Punch — Then Gets Hit In The Face During Intense Practice Clash [VIDEO]
Jameis Winston escalated the situation.
New York Giants veteran Jameis Winston found himself in the middle of another memorable scene Thursday. The Giants’ backup quarterback joined a massive brawl during joint practice with the Miami Dolphins.
Video shows Winston charging into an early skirmish. He leveled a Dolphins player and appeared to throw a punch. The move sparked an all-out fight between both teams.
Moments later, Winston took a punch to the face himself. Coaches and teammates quickly pulled him from the pile. Multiple other fights broke out across the fields in Miami Gardens.

Giants starting quarterback Jaxson Dart saw the red No. 19 jersey and reacted immediately.
“I didn’t see what happened,” Dart said. “I just looked over and saw the red 19 jersey and I was like, ‘I gotta go. I gotta go help my boy!’”
Several players on both sides threw punches. Dolphins offensive tackle Austin Jackson got ejected after swinging. Giants right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor also sat out after contact to a facemask.
Giants coach John Harbaugh addressed the chaos afterward. Teams had agreed on rules of engagement to keep things physical but safe. Nobody actually listened.
“In this sort of an environment, you have these rules of engagement that aren’t really rules of the game,” Harbaugh said. “And then somebody else goes over the line… and somebody needs to protect somebody and that’s where it goes.”

Harbaugh treated punches the same as a game. Players who threw them sat for stretches. Winston left the field for a few plays after the main melee.
“We decided that anybody that threw a punch in those scrimmages would be treated like the game,” Harbaugh explained. “That’s why Jermaine didn’t practice toward the end.”
The session still produced good work overall. Harbaugh said the Giants left better than they arrived. Tempers simply boiled over in the Florida heat.
Similar joint practice fights have marked other camps this summer. Winston’s willingness to jump in fits his long reputation as a fiery teammate.
The two teams meet again in a preseason game Saturday. Both sides now know the physical tone is set.
