Butler questions nanny costs as legal fight with ex heats up.

Jimmy Butler is in a legal dispute with his ex-partner Kaitlin Nowak over child support and expenses. Court records show they disagree on how much money is needed to raise their three children.

Butler already pays $55,000 every month in child support. He is now questioning why Nowak wants an extra $10,000 for a nanny. He believes this extra cost is not necessary.

The couple started dating in 2019 but never got married. They have three children together: Rylee, 5, Brayan, 2, and Kian, 1. Butler has accepted financial responsibility and agreed to share custody. Now, he says Nowak is asking for more money than needed.

Dispute Centers On Nanny Costs And Lifestyle Claims

Butler’s legal team has taken a firm stance in court. They argue that Nowak does not need a nanny at this stage. And they also point out that one child will soon start school and another already attends preschool. Moreover, Butler shares parenting time.

“Mother is not entitled to live as if she is married to a National Basketball Association (NBA) player,” the court documents state

His lawyers also claim that Nowak refuses to work. They say she expects a lifestyle that does not match her role as a co-parent. “Mother is unemployed and refuses to seek employment,” the motion states. They add that there is “no legitimate reason” to demand nanny expenses on top of the current support.

The dispute comes after an agreement they made in 2023. At that time, Butler agreed to pay for a nanny for a short period. Now, he wants to stop that arrangement as things have changed.

The case also points to Butler’s income. His lawyers say he earned $49 million this year and recently signed a $184 million contract. Still, they argue that earning a lot of money does not mean he should cover unlimited expenses.

Nowak has disagreed during mediation. Reports say she does not want to drop her request for nanny payments. Both sides have tried to settle the issue but have not reached a final deal.

Now, Butler’s team wants to bring in an independent mediator. They want someone to review Nowak’s finances and spending more closely. The case is still ongoing as both sides prepare for what comes next.
