The audio has been released of John Elway’s frantic 911 call following the tragic golf cart accident that k!lled his friend and former agent, Jeff Sperbeck.

On April 26, Sperbeck was the passenger in a golf cart driven by Elway in La Quinta, California, when the horrific accident occurred. Sperbeck fell out of the cart and suffered a traumatic brain injury, which he succumbed to four days later.

Police determined that John Elway did nothing wrong when the accident occurred and won’t face any charges. He wasn’t intoxicated nor driving perilously, and it was simply a tragic accident.

TMZ has obtained the audio of Elway’s frightening 911 call. Clearly shaken up during the phone call, Elway explains what happened before answering a series of questions from the dispatcher.

The entire call lasts three minutes and 24 seconds:

John Elway and Jeff Sperbeck founded the 7Cellars winery and began a partnership with winemaker Rob Mondavi Jr., leading to the business boom. In the ’90s, Sperbeck and friend Mike Sullivan began the “Sullivan & Sperbeck” agency.

Some of their notable clients, aside from Elway, included Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks Trent Dilfer, Jim Plunkett, Hall of Fame safety Ronnie Lott and former Pittsburgh Steelers star linebacker Joey Porter.

Sperbeck, a close friend of Elway’s for more than three decades, was survived by his wife, Carli, and three children.

Elway and the Broncos experienced over a decade of postseason heartbreak over the first half of his career. Things slowly but surely turned a corner when Sperbeck became Elway’s new agent in 1990.

The Broncos re-emerged as a championship contender under head coach Mike Shanahan and future Hall of Fame running back Terrell Davis. With Sperbeck representing the former MVP, Elway closed out his career as a back-to-back Super Bowl champion in 1997 and 1998.

She continued: ‘Everyone needs a Davina. She’s been amazing, weird that we had the same health thing going on at the same time. She’s so calming and we speak every day. She is just the best
