Heisman night spotlighted Julian Sayin, but fans watched more.

Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin arrived in New York with plenty of attention already on him. The Heisman Trophy ceremony only added to it. Fans talked about his strong season, but they also focused on his personal life.

Sayin missed the Heisman. Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza took home the 2025 award. Even so, Sayin was seen talking with Mendoza at the ceremony. Social media attention followed him throughout the night, with much of it focused on rumors about his girlfriend.

Sayin earned his place in New York with his play, among the four finalist. He completed 78.4 percent of his passes for 3,323 yards, with 31 touchdowns and six interceptions. He stepped in after national champion Will Howard and handled the pressure without issue. That performance made him a Heisman finalist.

Even though he did not win, fans continued to watch Sayin closely. Neither Sayin nor the woman linked to the rumors responded to the online talk.

Fans online linked Sayin to Gabrielle Fowler, a student at Arizona State. The rumors picked up during the ceremony. Fowler is a member of ASU’s Alpha Phi sorority, and she has got more than 4,300 followers on Instagram currently.

Sayin did not respond to the rumors. He also avoided drama all season and stayed focused on football. Although he did talk about what the Heisman ceremony meant to him.

“Growing up, I watched my idols win this award,” Sayin told Bucknuts.

“I was a big fan of Oregon in 2014 when Marcus Mariota was there. I was 10 years old or 9 years old. So that was my team to watch. And when he ended up winning the Heisman, it was awesome to see. It’s definitely a dream come true to go out there in New York and just be a part of it.”

The ceremony came after a tough moment for Sayin. He suffered the first loss of his Ohio State career last Saturday, when Indiana beat the Buckeyes. Sayin addressed the loss honestly.

“There were definitely so many plays that if we just made, I feel like we would have had the opportunity,” Sayin said via Bucknuts. “But we just didn’t execute at the highest level.”

Now, Sayin looks ahead to the College Football Playoff. The rumors may continue, but his focus remains the same. Football comes first.

Luka Doncic hits 45 points in his first game in Dallas since being traded to the Los Angeles.

It’s rare for a home crowd to cheer the visiting team, but Luka Doncic’s return to Dallas was no ordinary night.

Just days before February’s trade deadline, the Mavericks shocked the NBA by sending their 26-year-old superstar to the Lakers—a move that outraged fans and sparked backlash toward GM Nico Harrison.

On Wednesday, Doncic played his first game back in Dallas since the trade. The arena was filled with fans in both his old Mavs and new Lakers jerseys, many chanting “Fire Nico” in protest.

Despite the emotion in the air, Doncic delivered a dominant performance, scoring a game-high 45 points to lead the Lakers to a 112-97 win. It was a powerful return for one of the league’s brightest stars—and a night Dallas won’t soon forget

Every seat in the arena was draped with a T-shirt reading “Hvala za vse,” which translates from Slovenian to “thank you for everything.” It was a thoughtful nod to Doncic’s heritage and impact on the franchise.

Before tip-off, during the starting lineup announcements, the Mavericks played a tribute video showcasing some of Doncic’s most iconic moments in a Dallas jersey. The emotional gesture clearly resonated—moving Doncic to tears in front of the crowd that once called him their own.
