The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing back another old friend, veteran running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Chiefs have signed Clyde Edwards-Helaire following his release from the New Orleans Saints. The 2020 first-round pick spent his first four years with the AFC West club, winning back-to-back Super Bowls in 2022 and 2023.

Edwards-Helaire lost his starting RB job to Isiah Pacheco in the 2022 season, making just nine starts over his last two seasons in KC. They brought him back on a one-year deal in the 2024 offseason, but he never played a game for the Super Bowl champions and was released mid-season.

The 26-year-old appeared in two games for the Saints, recording 46 rushing yards and three receptions for 24 yards. He was initially brought back on a one-year deal worth $1.117 million, per Spotrac, before getting released on Tuesday.
