NETFLIX has announced that five popular series won’t be returning with new seasons for at least another year.

The streaming giant shared on Wednesday dozens of shows that are expected to return with new episodes in 2026.

However, several hit series were noticeably missing from the list and are rumored not to return until 2027 at the earliest.

While shows like The Night Agent, Virgin River, and The Lincoln Lawyer are on track to release new episodes in the coming months, there could be significant delays for others, such as Wednesday, Ginny & Georgia, Ranson Canyon, Untamed, and Forever, which are reportedly not slated to come back this year.

The news might not be surprising to some, as many of Netflix‘s more elaborate productions have years-long gaps in between seasons.

Wednesday, for instance, didn’t release its second season until nearly three years after Season 1 debuted on the platform.

Although Season 3 was renewed months before Season 2 dropped this past fall, production is still rumored not to start until February 2026.

Another classic example is Stranger Things, which took two years in between seasons for production and post-production before concluding the series on December 31.

Ginny & Georgia is also known for making fans wait two years in between seasons.

The comedy debuted in 2021, with the second season premiering in 2023, followed by the third in 2025.

Filming for Season 4 reportedly began last fall and will continue through February, leaving a release date unknown.

Season 2 of Ransom Canyon is also still in production, although it’s expected to wrap up later this month.

The dramedy starring Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly premiered in April and became an immediate hit with Netflix subscribers.

It was renewed in June, and a release date is set for early 2027.

Additionally, Season 2 of Forever, which was renewed in May, is currently in production with no release date yet, and the second installment of the crime drama Untamed is scheduled to film this year.

The series, starring Eric Bana and Sam Neill, is expected to drop Season 2 in early 2027.

Netflix has delivered many buzz-worthy original series and films this last year and continues to rotate its content to make room for more.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that the streamer was removing two cult-classic shows – House of Lies and Prison Break – from their feed in just weeks.

The platform also recently saved the NBC drama, Found, from cancellation after its former network gave it the boot after two seasons.
