Kentucky Wildcats senior running back Seth McGowan might be one of the best runners in the Southeastern Conference, but he is garnering major backlash for his actions on Saturday.

The South Carolina Gamecocks got back in the win column after a dominant performance against the Wildcats.

The Kentucky Wildcats never recovered after two costly turnovers in the first half. A 21-0 skid in the second quarter pretty much ended any hope of them mounting a comeback.

The game’s final score took a back seat to what happened after Kentucky running back Seth McGowan scored a 20-yard TD on Kentucky’s first drive and threw the ball in celebration.

His aim was too on point, and he clipped a man on the left shoulder who was sitting in the first row of the stands and wearing a Sellers jersey.

McGowan was not penalized for throwing the football. Unfortunately for him, that moment was not only caught on camera, but it turns out that the man was the grandfather of South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers.

This isn’t exactly the worst thing a UK running back has done this year. Kentucky running back Jamarion Wilcox was arrested following accusations of sexual abuse.

Following the 20-yard rushing score, McGowan threw a football toward the stands, where it hit a South Carolina fan.

After the game, South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers revealed that it was his grandfather who was hit.

“My grandad was the one who got hit with the ball on the first touchdown from Kentucky,” Sellers said during the interview.

After the game, McGowan posted his apology on social media.

“Today during our game vs South Carolina,” McGowan wrote.

“I threw a ball after a touchdown meaning to throw it at the barrier in front of the stands and during a high energy moment the ball struck a fan. What I did was absolutely unacceptable and not at all reflective of myself nor this program. “If anyone can get me in contact with the fan or his family, I would like to formally apologize to them and make it up any way possible. Also, I would like to apologize to the entire fans of South Carolina Football and their program.”

Seth McGowna would also speak with the media about the football-throwing incident.

“That’s completely my fault,” McGowan said.

“I would extend another apology, but out here, I would like to apologize to the fan I connected with. I tried to throw it at the ground, and in a high-energy moment, kind of slipped out, came out wrong. So, absolutely unacceptable. And that’s something that won’t happen again.”

McGowan had 17 carries for 112 yards and has been Kentucky’s leading rusher so far this season. He’s in his first season with the Wildcats after spending the 2024 season at New Mexico State following a stint in community college.

Luka Doncic ‘destroys’ the Mavs on his return. Gets standing ovation and shows love to Mark Cuban

Luka Doncic hits 45 points in his first game in Dallas since being traded to the Los Angeles.

It’s rare for a home crowd to cheer the visiting team, but Luka Doncic’s return to Dallas was no ordinary night.

Just days before February’s trade deadline, the Mavericks shocked the NBA by sending their 26-year-old superstar to the Lakers—a move that outraged fans and sparked backlash toward GM Nico Harrison.

On Wednesday, Doncic played his first game back in Dallas since the trade. The arena was filled with fans in both his old Mavs and new Lakers jerseys, many chanting “Fire Nico” in protest.

Despite the emotion in the air, Doncic delivered a dominant performance, scoring a game-high 45 points to lead the Lakers to a 112-97 win. It was a powerful return for one of the league’s brightest stars—and a night Dallas won’t soon forget

The Mavericks pay tribute to Luka Dončić

While the Mavericks’ decision to trade Luka Doncic remains heavily criticized, they handled his return to Dallas with undeniable grace. The organization made sure his first game back as a Laker was met with respect and appreciation.

Every seat in the arena was draped with a T-shirt reading “Hvala za vse,” which translates from Slovenian to “thank you for everything.” It was a thoughtful nod to Doncic’s heritage and impact on the franchise.

Before tip-off, during the starting lineup announcements, the Mavericks played a tribute video showcasing some of Doncic’s most iconic moments in a Dallas jersey. The emotional gesture clearly resonated—moving Doncic to tears in front of the crowd that once called him their own.

Luka Doncic ‘DESTROYS’ his old team

Luka delivered a dazzling performance against his former team, putting up 45 points on 16-of-28 shooting, including 7-of-10 from beyond the arc. He also added 8 rebounds6 assists, and 4 steals in a game that showed exactly why he’s one of the best in the league.

From the opening tip, Doncic was locked in. By halftime, Doncic had racked up 31 points on 11-of-16 shooting in just 19 minutes—marking the 10th time in his career he’s scored 30 or more in a single half.

Though his scoring slowed in the second half, he continued to lead effectively, securing both a Lakers win and an unforgettable showing for the fans in Dallas.
