Fresh off the championship run, Becky Hammon refuses to call her team a dynasty with players like Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers in the league.

The Las Vegas Aces had a smooth run in the WNBA finals with a clean sweep against the Phoenix Mercury. The side only had a tough challenge from Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever, with the semifinal series going till Game 5 overtime. But overall, the champions emerged as the dominant force in the postseason.

Becky Hammon was happy with the win, her third title in four seasons. Hammon even delivered an emotional tribute to team bonding during the post-game interview. But when asked about calling her team a dynasty, she had her analysis of the league, considering the growth and standards.

Becky Hammon Lauds Caitlin Clark’s Impact

The Aces never missed a playoff spot under Becky Hammon and went on to win three titles. Her record in the WNBA playoffs is 30-7, losing only two games in the finals. This certainly points to a possible dynasty. But the Las Vegas Aces HC refuses to call them ‘unbeatable’.

“These [modern] players are bigger, stronger, faster, and more skilled than it was just 10 years ago. So I think those guys who laid the groundwork showed how winning should be done… but the skill set, and the level that these guys are at, to me, it’s not comparable. You have rookies coming in like Paige [Bueckers], and Caitlin [Clark], and Angel [Reese], and they’re ready, now, to compete. And so I just think the quality from top to bottom… These guys have elite skill set,” Hammon said.

As for the Fever rookie, the team recently stretched the Aces to the limit in the semifinal, without Clark, which speaks volumes. After the 4-0 result in the WNBA finals, some fans even called the Fever-Aces series the best and Final worthy.

The player herself created history in her rookie season and, even with her limited gametime in the 2025 season, impacted the Commissioner’s Cup result – defeating the Liberty team with a massive game. Her inclusion would have challenged the Aces in the semifinals, making Hammon’s analysis valid. The player is also not limited to her on-court action.

Caitlin Clark As Speaker At Jacksonville Center

As the Aces HC mentioned, the Fever rookie had been a sensation in the league and a major contributor to the league’s success in recent years. Sophie Cunningham defended Clark as the WNBA’s face when the player was struggling with injuries in the 2025 season. Apart from her on-court magic, the star also has an impact on the communities as she frequently participates in social events and gatherings, addressing fans.

Even though the 2024 WNBA rookie is working on her health, she will be addressing the crowd in Jacksonville. She will speak at the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts as part of the Florida Forum Speaker Series on Oct. 29. This highlights her influence on the fans. As for her on-court action, Clark will not play in the Unrivaled league and focus on her fitness for the next season.
