Marshawn Kneeland’s absence from Earth has just become even sadder than it already was.

The girlfriend of the late Dallas Cowboys player dropped the heartbreaking news that she is pregnant with his child, according to head coach Brian Schottenheimer.

Schottenheimer made the announcement at a press conference on Wednesday.

“We want to make sure she’s taken care of and the baby is taken care of for the rest of their lives,” Schottenheimer reportedly said during the press conference.

Kneeland, whom the team selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, was in the midst of his second season with the Cowboys when he tragically decided to take his own life.

In his second season, he recorded his first NFL sack and scored a touchdown. Days later, Marshawn Kneeland would be deceased.

Marshawn Kneeland’s girlfriend is Catalina, and she has been described as an entrepreneur and supporter of Kneeland’s NFL journey. Schottenheimer also announced the creation of the Marshawn Kneeland Memorial Fund to help Catalina and the couple’s unborn baby.

It would be hours before his wrecked car was found. His body was soon found nearby.

Catalina tried her best to save him as she had notified police earlier that night that she believed Kneeland had suicidal ideations and that he had a history of mental illness.

Kneeland’s mother, Wendy, di3d in February 2024, two months before he was drafted into the NFL. That situation may have aided in his mental health decline that led to that fateful day.

Shortly after his d3ath was confirmed, Kneeland’s family shared a statement saying they were “devastated by this tremendous loss,” and were still processing.
