The Los Angeles Lakers secured another 129-119 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in their first meeting of the season on November 27. The Mavericks started well and took the 62-60 halftime lead. However, things went in favour of the Lakers in the third quarter, when they extended their lead and continued to build momentum until the end of the game. LeBron James’ energy on the court was evident.
The game featured Luka Doncic again delivering an outstanding performance with 35 points, following a heated moment with the referee that resulted in a technical foul. Austin Reaves did not step back and remained the top scorer of the night with an excellent 38 points. However, James’ all-around presence and a vital 13-point knock complemented the team’s effort.
James thoroughly enjoyed the game. His playful moment with the Mavericks’ Anthony Davis showed his fun side apart from the on-court pressure. However, a recent video from that night showed James making the Mavericks’ bench laugh, but the attention was focused on D’Angelo Russell, who seemed to be missing out on the fun moment.
Both teams showed true sportsmanship as their on-court tension did not limit them from having a playful courtside moment. However, the Mavericks added more pressure with the recent loss, as it landed them on a 5-15 record, and the setbacks raise doubts about their playoff aspirations.
LeBron James Praised Stephen Curry For His Elite Defense

LeBron James never holds back in appreciating the greatness of the NBA. During Team USA practices, Stephen Curry’s defensive game has his whole heart. Although Curry often receives praise for his offence, James has a different perspective on the Warriors star.
James explained that Curry focused only on defending elite scorers without hesitation. “I got an opportunity last summer, being on the Olympic team, to watch a lot of our guys play 1s,” James said. “ I watched KD, Book, and Ant play 1s. There’s one practice where literally Steph just went out there and just played all defense. He’s guarding KD… just out there just guarding the whole time. It didn’t matter who it was,” James said on his show. “He didn’t want to play offense, and I thought it was super cool to witness that.”
Even after long NBA seasons, veterans like Curry and James pushed themselves to rebuild the USA’s Basketball identity. Their commitment to the game indicates that authentic leadership is not about talent, but rather about effort and setting the standard every day.
