On Saturday, leading up to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever’s regular season opener against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky, future Hall of Famer LeBron James sent Clark, a fellow Nike athlete, well wishes.
In a post on Instagram, James showed fans some photos of the two together, wishing the 2024 Rookie of the Year well in the season ahead.
“Good luck and DO YOU per usual this season!!! @caitlinclark22.”

In addition to the fact that both LeBron James and Caitlin Clark are Nike athletes, James has been a vocal supporter of Clark’s since she joined the WNBA.
Back in May of 2024, James spoke with JJ Redick on his Mind The Game podcast about Clark, predicting that the standout guard would change the WNBA.
“Don’t get it f****d up. Caitlin Clark is the reason why a lot of great things are gonna happen for the WNBA.”
But that wasn’t all, just a few months later James praised Clark in an interview with Esquire, where he stated that he knows what Clark’s going through as she makes the transition to the professional level.
After catching national attention while playing for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Clark ascended to a level of superstardom that seemingly reminded James of himself.

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever get off to strong start in season opener against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky
After LeBron James’ well-wishes, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever got off to a hot start in the first half of their season opener against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky.
Throughout the first half of regulation, Clark led all scorers with 12 points, while also notably making her presence felt on the defensive end of the floor with three blocks.
The Fever also had big contributions from Natasha Howard, who logged ten points, Kelsey Mitchell, who had nine, and Aliyah Boston, who logged eight points and six first-half boards.
The hot start to the half marked the beginning of a season filled with championship aspirations for Indiana.
After a big return to the postseason last year, the franchise is entering into the 2025 season with a bolstered roster comprised of young standouts and seasoned veterans.
Given that, when asked about the team’s hopes for the season ahead, Caitlin Clark didn’t mince words while speaking to reporters, making it clear that the team’s sights are firmly set on a championship this season.
