Angel Reese Nearly Goes After Caitlin Clark After Flagrant Foul In Chippy WNBA Season Opener (VIDEO)

The WNBA wasted zero time reigniting one of the league’s hottest rivalries.

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese opened the 2025 season by going right at each other, and things got heated fast. Despite the Indiana Fever blowing out the Chicago Sky, a flagrant foul by Clark on Reese stole the spotlight.

Clark sent Reese crashing to the court in the third quarter, and fans immediately debated whether it was a hard play or just plain dirty. Reese? She didn’t hesitate — jumping up and marching toward Clark, ready for whatever was coming next.

Refs and teammates stepped in fast, but the message was clear: this rivalry is far from over.

Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark opened a new chapter in their already-storied rivalry during the first game of the season.

The WNBA pitted the second-year stars against each other to tip off the new season. While the game didn’t live up to the hype, given that it was a blowout win for the Indiana Fever over the Chicago Sky, a feisty exchange between Reese and Clark made up for the lack of competitiveness.

Caitlin picked up a flagrant for a hard foul on Angel that split the opinion, as some fans reckon it was a common foul, while others feel it was over the top. Reese clearly thought it was too much as she hopped up and approached the Fever guard, ready to throw hands.

Internet lip readers have since revealed the four-word message she had for her opponent.

“You crazy as f*ck,” the former LSU star is reported to have told Clark, having previously asked, “What the f*ck is wrong with you?”

Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark has offered to pay a $200 fine handed to Fever teammate Aliyah Boston, who was assessed a technical while trying to get between her and Reese.

“I got it for you, don’t worry. It’s real hefty,” she joked.

The WNBA has since opened up an investigation into allegations of racist abuse toward Angel Reese at Indianapolis’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse during the game.

Tony Romo speaking on CBSTony Romo (Photo via CBS)
Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is not the most popular guy on TV. That much was apparent while he was calling the Wild Card game between the Broncos and Bills for CBS on Sunday.

Romo, who has done very little to hide how much he admires Buffalo QB Josh Allen, had some praise for the MVP favorite while he was attempting to take his team to the Divisional Round.

Some fans felt like he was being overly gracious, while some simply couldn’t stand him talking in general.

“STFU AGAIN ROMO!!!!!!!!! I’M TIRED OF YOUR BILLS AND CHIEFS GLAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU’RE SICKENING ASF!!!!!!!!!!” an X user wrote.

“Can we start a petition to ban Romo from calling games,” another asked.

“Can Tony Romo get off his kneees for Josh Allen?” someone else chimed in.

“Tv muted when romo starts talking,” a fan claimed.

Tony Romo’s Partner Reached Impressive Milestone

While Romo was getting slammed, his broadcast colleague touched an impressive milestone.

Jim Nantz has been with CBS for over 40 years and reached his 500th game with the network calling Sunday’s fixture.

Nantz and Romo have been working together for seven of those 40 years.

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson has emerged as one of the most prominent figures in women’s basketball. Her outstanding achievements and dominant performances on the court have boosted her confidence in her skills. However, this confidence has recently caused her some trouble, as NBA fans criticized her for a recent statement she made.

In a recent episode of the “Roommates” show, Wilson stunned both the NBA and WNBA by claiming that she could defeat New York Knicks star Josh Hart in a one-on-one matchup. Additionally, she predicted that the final score would be 11-8.

“Score would be 11-8, me. I’m not saying you gonna go scoreless, 8 to 11 is pretty solid. So, what do you think it’ll be, Josh?” Wilson said.

Although Josh and Wilson both had a good laugh during their conversation, Wilson’s comment stirred up the basketball community. “She’d lose 11-0 w him only playing w his offhand,” one fan said.
