Like countless football fans, a prominent former NFL referee and expert rules analyst can’t take the “tush push” play anymore and wants it banned.

The Philadelphia Eagles executed the tush push to perfection against the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday’s highly anticipated Super Bowl rematch, riding the practically unstoppable play to a 20-17 victory.

The NFL discussed banning the play in the offseason, but they decided to keep it legalized. But if Fox rules analyst and former NFL Vice President of Officiating Dean Blandino gets his wish, the play will be scrapped sooner rather than later.

During the live broadcast on Fox Sports, Blandino told colleagues Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady that he’s “done with” Philly’s tush push play.

“I am done with the tush push guys,” Blandino said. “It’s a hard play to officiate.”

Perhaps the NFL, NFLPA and team owners will discuss the idea of banning the play for good in the offseason. That would be a blow to the Eagles’ offensive gameplan, but it’s not like traditional quarterback sneaks are easy to stop, either.

The 2-0 Eagles will host Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams next Sunday. The Chiefs will visit the New York Giants on “Sunday Night Football.”
