Maria Bartiromo’s Sudden Fox Business Exit Takes Another Unexpected Turn
Fox Business Network deleted long serving anchor Maria Bartiromo’s biography from its website within hours of her shock exit.
Maria, 58, was confirmed as no longer being part of their hosting team on Thursday, September 3, and did not partake in an on-air sign-off. Fox Business Network announced her departure in a brief statement that read, “Effective today, Maria Bartiromo is no longer with FOX News Media. We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.”
It is believed Maria did not make the decision to leave the network, despite being linked to Karoline Leavitt’s job, with sources familiar with the situation claiming her departure was a business decision.
Maria’s daily Fox Business show, Mornings With Maria, will now be renamed Mornings with Fox Business and come from rotating anchors. Meanwhile, her Fox News Sunday show, Sunday Morning Futures, will follow a similar style with former Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz hosting this upcoming week.
Maria has been a familiar face at the network for over a decade and the timing of her departure has sent the rumor mill into overdrive, especially as Vice President JD Vance hosted the first White House press briefing since Karoline Leavitt’s departure last week. Speculation that Maria could be Karoline’s replacement has been rife.

Karoline, 29, stepped down in order to spend more time with her family, with her last day at the White House taking place on Friday, August 28. The move came after she and her husband Nicholas Riccio, 61, welcomed their second child earlier this year.
Karoline’s replacement is yet to be announced but several names have been linked to the role before Maria, including Scott Jennings, Alina Habba and of course President Trump’s “most beautiful” aide, Margo Martin.
Maria is known for her pro-Trump stance and was seated at his table during his inauguration, as well as being appointed to the board of the Kennedy Center. However, some industry sources have shot down the rumor.
Former Mediaite editor in chief, Aidan McLaughlin, who works as Vanity Fair’s Washington correspondent wrote on X, “Bartiromo is not leaving for a job in the Trump admin, I’m told.”
Maria’s links to Trump are notable due to her wealthy lifestyle – she has been married to businessman Jonathan Steinberg since 1999. Jonathan is the founder and CEO of WisdomTree Investments, a New York-based asset management firm known for its work in exchange-traded funds.
He is also the son of the late Wall Street financier Saul P. Steinberg, who built a fortune through Reliance Group Holdings and became a prominent figure in American business.
Maria and Jonathan have largely kept their private life out of the spotlight. The couple divide their time between homes in New York City and the Hamptons and share interests in economics, markets and philanthropy
