THE MASKED Singer fans have been convinced that the contestant behind the Handyman costume is A-list rapper Tone Lōc.

Viewers believed they cracked the case during the show’s Season 14 premiere on January 7th when the Handyman first took the stage.

The mystery singer belted out the lyrics to Peaches & Herb’s Shake Your Groove Thing and had most of the panel of “detectives” – Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora – stumped over who they could be.

However, they didn’t seem to fool Robin Thicke, who suspected that Tone Loc was under the mask because the singer’s raspy voice matched that of the actors.

Viewers at home thought several of the hints in the clue package also gave away that Tone Lōc was beneath the suit.

One telling clue was that Handyman hung out with Robert De Niro and Courteney Cox, which could easily point to Tone Lōc, given he starred in Heat with Robert and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective with Courteney.

Additionally, the clip showed an Ace of Spades license plate, seemingly a reference to the rap star’s song Ace Is in the House, featured in Ace Ventura.

Another hint further linking Tone Lōc to the character is that the package noted that the contestant was West Coast-based, and the Funky Cold Medina rapper is from Los Angeles.

On top of that, the Handyman held up a sign that read, “You want to see my wild guy face?” which appeared to reference his song Wild Thing.

Perhaps what solidified fans’ suspicions that Tone Lōc is the Handyman was the picture of hot tea, which seemingly connects to the TV star’s claim that he developed his signature raspy voice after drinking scalding hot tea as a kid.

“lmao I’m watching masked singer and ain’t hear not one clue about this man but soon as he opened his mouth I said awww they got tone loc on this mf,” one person said on X about the singer’s distinct voice.

“Tone Loc on the masked singer like we don’t Cleary know his one-of-a-kind voice,” echoed another.

“And if we needed the clues, which you are right, the voice gave him away, he ‘hung with courtney cox’ on ace ventura,” pointed out a third.

I don’t know if it’s that obvious, but I think the Handyman is Tone Loc. Voice alone sounds like him, but the clues point to him too,” someone else said in a Reddit thread.

“When he said wild ace and held a mask based off where the wild things are, I knew it was him,” agreed a fifth.

“The guy I was watching with said, ‘That’s Tone Loc!’ like 3 words into the song,” added a sixth.

After his performance, the Handyman told host Nick Cannon that he joined The Masked Singer because his daughter dared him to, and that he enjoyed himself in the end.

The Handyman lost his round to Galaxy Girl, who is predicted to be Ashlee Simpson, but he still advanced to the next round after avoiding the night’s double elimination.

MLB legend David “Big Papi” Ortiz was unmasked first from within the Googly Eyes costume, while The Croissants were unveiled to be Chrisley Knows Best stars Todd and Julie Chrisley.
