Many Mormon Wives fans labeled Whitney, 32, as a “mean girl” as she continued to stir up drama and made a series of comments that garnered outrage.
The Utah native admitted that the “only reason” she returned to the reality show was to solidify her spot on Dancing with the Stars.
The comments and other remarks Whitney made during season 3 didn’t sit well with fans – and she feels as if the release date played a major role in her being sent home.
“Whitney feels really bitter that Hulu didn’t push the release of the show back a week.
“She expressed on the set after the show last night, off camera of course, that she feels that her being voted out was 100% a direct result of backlash from Mormon Wives,” an insider told The U.S. Sun.
Season 3 of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was released on Hulu on November 13, 2025 – just a few days before the semifinals, where Whitney was eliminated.
It is also less than two weeks before Dancing with the Stars’ season 34 finale, which Whitney was widely believed to not only make it to, but to potentially even win.

“Whitney should genuinely sue whoever decided to air season 3 of slomw this week,” one person quipped.
“Man if I was Whitney I’d be p***ed off that they released SLOMW the week before the finale,” another fired off.
“They did Whitney dirty by releasing that Mormon Wives season just before the DWTS finale lmao,” a third said.
“The show chatter absolutely ate into her votes. She deserved to be in the finale no question,” a fourth suspected.
The drama surrounding Whitney’s comments heightened when DWTS host, Julianne Hough, brought up the comments made on Mormon Wives in the middle of Tuesday’s live episode.
Following Whitney’s first dance of the evening with her pro partner, Mark Ballas, the Utah influencer appeared taken aback when met with some shade from host Julianne.
“She didn’t appreciate Julianne calling her out on live TV, that was so awkward.
“Julianne didn’t need to bring up the Mormon Wives comments so she thought that was a petty move.
“She handled it as gracefully as she could but she knows she deserved to be in the finale talent-wise,” an insider told The U.S. Sun.
During Prince night on DWTS, Whitney, 32, and Mark did a Cha-Cha to his classic hit, 1999.
After receiving high praise from the judges on the ballroom floor, the duo headed up to the balcony to talk to Julianne before receiving their scores.
“Let’s just talk about the elephant in the room,” Julianne said – getting straight to the point.
“You said on the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives that the only reason you wanted to do that show is so you could do this show. Why do you want to be here so much?”
While Whitney seemed surprised by the question, she gave a polite reply that emphasized how much being on the show has meant to her.
The three-hour finale of Dancing with the Stars airs on Tuesday, November 25th, on ABC.

A shockwave ripped through Detroit when Alec Baldwin torched Jesse Watters during a live panel — mocking him, interrupting him, and even calling him “stupid” on-air. The room went silent. The clips went viral. And within hours, Baldwin’s world collapsed: five major sponsors gone overnight, wiping out an estimated $86 million in deals. But the real explosion hit when Watters fired back — a sharp, controlled strike that insiders say “changed the tone instantly.” Sources now confirm Baldwin is staring down a possible $50 million lawsuit — a legal hit that could eclipse the career damage entirely. Industry execs are calling this “one of the most aggressive responses Hollywood’s seen in years,” with political media circling the story like blood in the water.
