Michael Jordan interracting with kid

MJ is facing widespread backlash over his awkward interaction.

Michael Jordan has come under fire following what was undoubtedly his greatest moment as a team owner.

The basketball icon watched his 23XI Racing outfit win at the Daytona 500 on Sunday. The victory marked a massive achievement for the NASCAR team, which is co-owned by MJ and Denny Hamlin

However, the celebrations haven’t gone down well online, as Jordan was seen having a moment with a child that folks found inappropriate.

Television cameras showed the former Chicago Bulls superstar pulling on a young boy’s shirt and appearing to tickle his leg as he celebrated the win.

“Michael Jordan was not at the NBA all star game. He was busy at the Daytona 500. Such a nasty moment from MJ. There’s no place for this,” someone shared via Twitter/X.

As noted above, social media users found this to be in poor taste. And Jordan, who was recently accused of scamming a major broadcast network, is taking even more heat.

“No matter the intention, this is not ok,” someone wrote.

“Epstein parallels? Spot on. We’ve seen too many ‘awkward’ moments from celebs turn into scandals. This isn’t just a slip. Public figures need to be hyper-aware around kids,” someone else echoed.

“This yall goat 🤢Legoat would never do no s**t like this,” said a fan.

“He’s clearly messing with the kid 🤦🏾‍♂️ y’all people are weird fr fr. Do people actually think he would try to do this on national television if he really was trying to feel up on the kid, smdh 🤦🏾‍♂️,” someone else suggested.

“I think he’s just messing with him but in today’s climate ts looks horrible,” said another.

MJ was, of course, being playful, yet such actions aren’t as acceptable as they were in years past.
