Dino Tomlin, the son of Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, has been handed a minicamp tryout with an NFL team after going undrafted.

Tomlin, a wide receiver who last played for Boston College, is set for a massive opportunity despite teams passing on him in all seven rounds of this month’s draft.

According to Ashley Liotus of WTAE, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have invited the player to their rookie minicamp, which kicks off in May.

Mike Tomlin has some history in Tampa Bay. In 2001, he was a defensive backs coach under Tony Dungy and worked under Jon Gruden from 2002 to 2005, helping the team win a Super Bowl.

Dino Tomlin began his college career in Maryland, committing to the Terrapins as a three-star recruit in 2019. He transferred to Boston College in 2021 after making 11 appearances and catching two passes for Mayland, having made just two outings as a freshman and another three in 2020.

He ended his first season for the Eagles with 10 catches for 181 yards in 12 games, following that up with 24 receptions and 312 yards in 13 appearances.

The wideout made three catches for 40 yards in 10 games in 2024, his final year of eligibility, before declaring for the NFL Draft.

Tomlin ran the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds on his Pro Day, finishing the 20-yard shuttle in 2.56 seconds and the 10-yard shuttle in 1.54 seconds. The 5 ft 11 in wideout, who weighs 183 lbs,  registered a 38-inch vertical jump.

While his numbers don’t jump off the page, he will have a chance to prove to an NFL team that he could be of value.
