NBC made swift decision on Wanya Morris’ injury.

Chiefs star Wanya Morris summed up the night for the team.

The Kansas City Chiefs endured a miserable start to their game against the Houston Texans after the offensive lineman suffered a serious knee injury on the very first play.

The team entered the contest with various injuries to its offensive line already.

Morris went down in a scrum of players and immediately grabbed his knee.

The situation was so dire that NBC had to make a swift decision on the spot.

There was a significant delay in the game because of the incident. NBC decided not to show the replay of Wanya Morris’ injury, nor his being tended to.

Instead, NBC showed the players’ reactions from both teams.

NBC’s play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico said on the broadcast that the injury “wasn’t pleasant.”

He didn’t return to the game, and the Chiefs fell 20-10 in a costly loss.

Wanya Morris, who started the game at left tackle, exited the contest after Kansas City’s first play with an apparent knee injury.

Morris immediately grabbed at his left knee after Isiah Pacheco’s 3-yard run to start the night.

He was eventually carted from the sideline to the locker room for further evaluation.

Losing Morris is a huge blow for Patrick Mahomes and his teammates, with the offensive line already seriously depleted by injuries.

The Chiefs’ turbulent season continued against the Texans on Sunday, as they dropped to 6-7, their worst record after 13 games since 2012.

Sunday was a must-win game for the Chiefs.

After the loss, the Kansas City Chiefs’ chances of making the postseason dropped to just 15%.
