Viral athlete Meghan Walker has made yet another giant step into her next career.

In 2024, the world was introduced to the Nebraska track star when she took to social media and posted two side-by-side pictures in her track and field gear. Earlier this month, WWE announced the signings of Meghan Walker, Cyrus Habibi-Likio, and Jessica Bognadov.

The three recruits all signed after impressing officials at the SummerSlam week tryouts held earlier this year.

Walker, a decorated athlete at the collegiate level, previously competed in track and field for the University of Nebraska. She was already well-known within the company, having previously signed to the WWE NIL (Next In Line) program before transitioning to a full-time contract.

Now, the 21-year-old has signed a full-time developmental contract with WWE, moving into the Performance Center/NXT system, per North Platte Post.

If all goes well, fans may see Meghan Walker in the ring in a couple of years. More than likely, she will be part of NXT before joining the main roster.

Meghan Walker might not be one of the country’s most well-known athletes, but that will surely change as she gets ready to transition to the WWE.

How social media responded:

“Hell yeah, Go Big Red!!!” one fan said.

“Good Luck,” a second fan stated.

“Megan Walker is the Future of WWE Women’s Division,” a third fan wrote.

“🔥🔥🔥 Love the Support for Women’s Sports and Women Athletes! This is truly a game changer!” a fourth fan commented.

Before her transition to the happens, she first made her name on the track. She was a two-time South Dakota state champion and even clocked her personal-best times of 24.77 in the 200m and 56.08 in the 400m.

Once Meghan Walker arrived at the University of Nebraska, she joined the Big Ten Indoor Championships 4x400m relay team, placing ninth with a time of 3.46.56 during the indoor season in 2023.

In 2024, Walker contributed to the eighth-place distance medley relay and 4x400m relay at the Big Ten Championships while finishing 14th in the 400m at the conference with a 55.04.

In 2025, Walker finished in first place in the 600m at the Husker Holiday Open. She also contributed to a sixth-place finish in the sprint medley relay division.

The harder she works, the quicker she makes her way to the bright lights of the WWE.
