A “masterpiece” comedy that’s hailed by fans as “amazing” is streaming now. 21 Jump Street (2012) tells the story of cops Schmidt (played by Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) who are sent on a mission that sees them reliving their high school days as they race to prevent the spread of a new synthetic drug and take down the supplier.
The supporting cast also includes other major stars, including Brie Larson, James Franco, and Ice Cube. The film, which is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, is an adaptation of the classic US TV series that ran from 1987–1991.

A sequel, 22 Jump Street, was released in 2014. Both films returned to Netflix on Thursday, November 27.
Fans showered the first film with praise on Rotten Tomatoes, with one calling it the “funniest movie I’ve ever seen”.
Another wrote: “The characters are relatable and extremely likeable and it has a memorable theme too! But the main reason this movie works is the chemistry between its two lead actors!”
A third said it’s “a very entertaining movie with a self-aware edge that knows that despite being based off of a TV show not many people remember, it can still be hilarious in its own right”.
“While I’ve never seen the original show, I can definitely say that 21 Jump Street is an amazing comedy.”
A fourth called it a “movie that knows how to be a lot of fun”. “21 Jump Street doesn’t take itself too seriously and manages to muster up enough good laughs to make it a semi regular viewing.
“The two leads have great chemistry and there are some hilarious moments. Good buddy cop movie.”
One fan wrote on Reddit: “I have recently watched both 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street films… they are a complete masterpiece.”
The film has a 15 certificate and contains strong language, sex references, violence and drug use, so viewer discretion is advised.
