Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was gunned down last Wednesday when a 22-year-old sh0t one bullet that hit him in his ne:ck as he debated people at a Utah college.
Since his de3ath, more things have started to come out about his personal life.
Many may have thought that Kirk was an only child, but the 31-year-old actually had a sister.
According to The Daily Mail, Kirk has a younger sister, Mary Kirk, who has kept a low profile.
Mary Kirk made it clear that she also initially grew up conservative just like her older brother, Charlie Kirk. However, things took a drastic turn in 2011.
By 2015, things really started to shift when she met Bernie Sanders, who began his first presidential campaign in 2015.
Kirk’s sister even posted a picture on Facebook of herself grinning while shaking hands with Sanders for a second time in 2016.
Mary captioned the photo, “#tbt to when I met Bernie a year ago and had no id3a who he was, and now he is the light of my life,” according to Daily Mail.
Mary has been a left-wing democrat ever since, which is a stark difference from her conservative influencer brother.
Their difference in politics did not create a rift within the family.
Mike Miller, a Chicago jeweler who played a key role in Turning Point USA’s early growth, told Daily Mail, “Mary was a devoted sister to Charlie. Her politics are her business.”
Another friend told the news outlet, “Their family was no different than a lot of families these days.” The friend added, “Charlie went one way, Mary ending up going the other. Their parents are pretty moderate conservatives.”
